Hello
I have recently bought a dell Inspiron 1300 which has a wlan card fitted. The card utility tells me that there is limited or no connectivity (there is a signal and a good one being detected) and indeed there is no connection to the net. I know the router (Netgear DG834G) is working because the old computer is connected.
What have I done wrong ?
Thanks in advance

Have you installed the drivers for the card correctly?

If you have the security turned on, did you enter the encryption code properly?

Here's a "trick" that works on my laptop:
1) Right click on the Wireless Network icon in the system tray and select Status
2) Select Properties
3) In the box that says "The connection uses the followiing items" - click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), then click on the Properties button.
4) When the TCP/IP properties open up, click on OK (to close it), then on OK in the Wireless Connection properties window, then on Close in teh Wireless Connection Status window.
Does this make the "limited connectivity" thing go away? If so, that's the "fix" that I use. I haven't had the time or inclination to research this further - but would be interested in seeing a better solution if there is one!
