HI

I am working on my aunts computer she was haveing some problems with it so I was going to reinstall windows. The computer is a compaq presario its kind of old it has a pentium 3 and windows 98. Since its a compaq all I have is a recovery CD. I have tried to boot from the cd but all I get is a flashing cursor. I have tried the cd in my laptop and it boots up fine. So I tried my Windows ME cd and it will not boot from that. I made a ME boot floppy and I can get the computer to boot from that. But I cant get the recovery CD to run. there are two files on the CD they are BOOTCAT.BIN and BOOTSECT.BIN. Is there a way to get the cd to run from DOS or is there a way I can get the Recovery CD to work.
thanks

You probably need to set the boot order in your bios to boot from the cd.
