According to Mozilla Vice President of Products Christopher Beard, Firefox 2.0, which should be available on Tuesday if all goes according to schedule, includes key new usability features missing in the new IE 7.

So, three new browsers in the same year, after no action for a half decade. How do they stack up? We do a comparison of features, usability, memory, and disk usage to help you decide which you should spend your hard earned…oh wait a minute, they're all free, so you can pick the one you want without worrying about out of pocket. Keep in mind: We're just looking at what's there right now, and not considering what the browser developers may have planned for later additions.
Which New Browser Is Best: Firefox 2, Internet Explorer 7, or Opera 9?

"...after no action for a half decade."
This may be true for Internet Explorer, but certainly NOT for Mozilla, Firefox, and of course Opera. All but the first have constantly upgrade their functionality and provided REAL competition to Microsoft.
Happy Tuesday!

Yeah, I caught that too, John.
Either he didn't go over his copy before posting, or he didn't do too much research on the subject.

I always find it strange the whold "browser war" thing. For goodness sakes they are all free. Try them see how well they work for you and then use it. Myself I find myself of late useing opera. I am just the kinda person that prefers to follow my own path. Opera is a bit more for thoes that have no problems messing with settings. But once set and you learn how to do it it is far more easy to set it up the way you want it. So my whole outtake on which browser is better? Which ever one works best for you.

I think the title should have warned us that not a lot of real thought was involved- - -"web browser SMACKDOWN," indeed.

The comparisons between the three browsers made very good reading, thanks tg1911.

I knew there must have been some reasons why I instinctively prefer OPERA9.

Cheers

It was very interesting read indeed. "Browser war" after all is very healthy in the competitive sense for the consumers' heart. The competitive edge compels them to produce a superior product. As a result, the winner is the consumer! And, I am with Rob, OPERA9 has my vote as the browser of choice. Thank you tg1911 . Take care. YOYO. smile.gif
