I am having problems getting onto the network with one PC. I have two desktops hard wired to a router. One is working great, the other will not connect. The following is only about the PC that cannot connect.Some info:
1) Every thing else works great
2)I can get a connection while starting in a safe mode
3) I have been able to ping successfully
4) I talked to the service provider (comcast) and everthing is OK to the modem. They say its a hardware problem, not something blocking or could not open port 80 (whatever that is)
5) Computer help desk not much help said to re-install original boot disk (if I can even find after 4 yr) and start over (great service, wants you to work thru chat, but if pc cannot connect???
5) The other PC works OK and this PC works in safe mode so I assume router is OK
6) When trying to connect I get an error http:\\errorpage.comcast.net
7) No matter what web page I try to go to, I still get the same error
8) I have tried System Restore to a date prior to the problem
