I have shutdown problem. Gets to "now safe to turn off computer", but will not turn off. Can only be turned off at wall power point. Cancelled out all solutions found on internet except one which could be the problem. "bootlog. txt". Problem there, but how do I fix it.

First you can try this and see if it helps:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/downloa...8SE/Default.asp

If that doesnt I would advise you to try and get the latest drivers for your video cards, sound cards, and network cards. Shutdown can be caused by drivers not releasing properly.

Downloaded microsoft update as above. Wouldn't install. It's only for Windows 98 SE. I have Windows 98.
Will try latest drivers.
