You need to give us more information.
Is the nic built onto the motherboard?
If so, give us the complete information about the manufacturer, exact model of the computer, and which motherboard including revision number and chipset.
What you can do is look in your device manager and see if there are any yellow or red warning icons in any of the categories.
If there are, update the driver.
If you do not know the answers to the question above download Everest V1.51 from oldversion.com
(you will find Everest in the Utilities section)
Run it and it will give you all the information about all the hardware and software on your computer. (V1.51 is the last freeware version that includes the software module)
It may even give you a link to the manufacturer of your nic for drivers.
