i just reinstalled windows xp and my floppy drive light is always on and when i boot my pc it says floppy boot disc failure any idea how i can fix this problem

Sounds to me like the floppy cable is installed backwards. Reverse it and see if that doesn't clear up the problem.If it doesn't then your floppy drive could be shot.

Ok yes, it's possible that the floppy cable is reversed, however the problem could also be a problem with how it's set up in CMOS, if it's set up as a drive that it's not, it will do the same thing, make sure that it's correct. I believe the most common is 1.4 mb and 3 1/2 inches

I, personally, have given up on floppy drives and WindowsXP - just too darned much trouble.

The solution is a USB floppy drive (about $20 if you look around).
