Hi everyone,

I work on a windows 2000 professional platform. Since the last 2 weeks I had been noticing that my LIMEWIRE ver 4.12 would keep restarting even after I would exit the application.
Also after doing ctrl+alt+del - nothing would happen when I cliked on the TASKBAR option.
This has continued, and various restarts have not helped not even McFee Antivirus which I use. Then after reading a post my some I download ANG Antivirus yesterday.

After scanning for some 2 hours, its come up with an alarming VIRUSES 18826 - the viruses in question being VB.SO and VB.QC. Right now as I type this mail the healing process is on but I do not know if that is going to help.

one thing that is really puzzling me is its showing 90% affected files in the following folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Complete\
I checked but I dont have this folder, even when I turn on the show hidden files option.

PLS HELP ME OUT, I'M A STUDENT AND I NEED THIS COMP FOR A LOT OF MY PROJECTS. WOULD GREATLY APPRETIATE HELP.. THANK YOU

Hi, shonic:
You could post a HiJackthis log in our HijackThis Logs and Analysis forum.
Before you do, please read and follow the instructions in the Preparation Guide for use before posting a HijackThis Log

Our HJT is very busy right now. So it may take a few days before someone can take a look at your log.

Good-luck.

I'm guessing that you downloaded AVG which is good but the McAfee is better, but you don't want to run the two at the same time.

What else are you scanning with? You shouldn't rely on just the anti virus, I would suggest that you add the

Spybot Search and Destroy

AdAware

I would also suggest that you run your scans in the safe mode.

Does your McAfee have a firewall? If not you need to add one to your system as well, Zone Alarm works well and if free. You can find it here.
