There's been an update. The
/h switch I mentioned above is no longer an issue, can be used.
Very nice program, as no installation required, so it's completely portable.
I scanned in safe mode using /f="C:\". When it run in safe mode, number of processes was 10.
Just to show BC what it looks like, I ran it now with my ZoneAlarm Security suite, in standard mode. I replaced directory by "dirName", and my user name by "myName" in the below example run.

All I had to do is permit a2 to communicate with windows\system32\smss.exe for just this one time but this is not the mode I'll be running it in, as the whole purpose was safe mode.
