Do you think it is a good idea to buy an external harddrive from EBay? Is this safe? Or is there a better place that I can get one at a good price?
zemoman
if i were you id think that over. ebay is a good website and all (iv been scamed there before) but i would really think it over and NOT buy it. you never know what can be on it (viruses, spyware, keyloggers, adware, remote access software, malware) ,those are just some of the stuff that can be on it, so instead of risking your computer just buy one from the stores. Its going to be eather savig a couple of bucks and risking your computers life OR buying one from a store...

Plus, if it fails in a few days/weeks, what kind of guarantee are you going to get?

tigerdirect and newegg have pretty good prices, and they're both reputable companies.

Yes you can get hard drives very cheap at both of those sites.

Saving a few bucks on ebay isn't worth the risk when it comes to this sort of thing, imo.
