Hi everybody ,
I have been using the HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4521B drive (from LG i think) for the past 1 year and it has been running fine without any problems but now when i try to run some dvd's the drive doesnt recognize them (no error or something) [it behaves as if no dvd has been inserted] . Some of the dvds are pirated but i dont think thats the problem because they run fine on my friends ASUS dvd rom e-608 [which is region free] . Can anybody help me . Also i have a particular game DVD (read pirated) which ran fine i installed the game but the dvd wasnt recognized after that . [the game has a starforce protection system] . Can i run that dvd again ? What could have been the problem . (its an 8x DVD) . My drive details are as follows :

if you go to my computer and right click on the drive, go to properties and go to hardware, there you can troubleshoot it. why not looking up the manufactuer too?

try afterdawn.com, a lot of their stuff has information on cd an dvd drives and that such.
