This is abit of a stupid question but it's been nagging me for ages.

Does a dual core processor running at 2Ghz mean that it's actually running at 4Ghz because it's dual core?
Mr Alpha
No. Think of it as two processors in the same package. It won't finnish one task twice as fast, but it can do two tasks at once.

So if you play games is it worth getting one?

Just to get this staright.

If you have a dual core 2Ghz processor does that mean windows can clog up one core and you can run games a 2ghz on the other core?

Yes, that is the reason I got a dual-core processor, although I got much more than windows clogging up the other core.

If it is worth it as a gamer is a much harder and more speculative question.
