One day when i logged on wen i pressed the speech marks button it did the @ and the pound sign is now #. I'm baffled could anyone help?

wilkie , looks like you are using the US keyboard settings.

Try this : Click start > control panel > regional and language options > click on the languages tab > details > settings tab > in the drop down box under the heading "default input language" choose English ( united kingdom ) > apply > OK.
