Hello,

when I go to the Windows Update site, it won't let me download the updates. I always get this error.
(Error number: 0x80072EFD) I added the Microsoft update sites to my exceptions list on my firewall, and also added them to my trusted sites for IE. Still can't update Windows

What Firewall software are you using? Are you using Windows 2000?

I'm using Windows 2000 and PC-cillin Internet Security 2006.

I've tried everything on that list except disabling my firewall temporarily. A friend of mine is also having the same problem, my friend also has PC-cillin Internet Security 2006. So I hope it has something to do with my firewall configuration. I have to go for a little while, but i'll be sure to try that later.

Thank you very much for the help guys. I had to get back to my real life for a few days, and just got back on the computer. It was a problem with my firewall not allowing Windows Update to connect. So i'm glad that's fixed. When I read the solutions to that error number before I posted this problem, I never saw anything about the firewall. So thanks again for the help.
