How malware hides & is installed as a service Much needs to be read in order to assist users in the cleaning of their PC's after malware has infiltrated the system. It can be a daunting task. I know. I use aspirin... quite often when considering windows in general, let alone the malware modified units. I must say, however, that Grinler's tutorial is a cut above the rest. It should be read as a companion edition to any self-help involving some very popular disturbances to our PC's. In particular:
  • Home Search Assistant / CWS_NS3
  • SSearch.biz hijacker
as he mentions in this clear & understandable short tutorial.

Please consider the effort he has taken to simplify an increasingly complex issue. That work, coupled with the authorship of getservices to conveniently identify the bad amongst the good entries, certainly deserves some praise and some careful consideration when we set out to restore our PCs to their expected normalcy after being infected.
