I downloaded adaware from majorgeeks.com and then printed out your tutorial in order to find out how to use it. I came unstuck right away at step4. I did the update clicked on finish clicked on configure but there is no Generalbutton on the lefthand side...Help

After update, click on Finish instead of Configure. Then click on the GEAR icon to enter AAW's configuration menus.

Thank you . I have now done the scan and have about 65new critical objects
I tried without success to copy the logfile, the only thing I can do is to highlight each entry and copy and paste it. It will be a very laborious task. Most of them seem to be Alexa or tracking cookies.Any ideas on that score?

You don't need to copy the log file, just let Ad-aware fix it.

Right click in the area that has the "Critical Objects" listed, click "Select All", then click next.
