Due to recent threads here and here, I've been forced to concede that imageshack cannot be trusted. Since I use imageshack, I am worried about infecting others who try to view my pictures.

Soo...I am requesting some safe alternatives to imageshack. I don't want to support a site that continues to allow malicious ads on their sites. Please post links, so those of us who have been using imageshack can pick a better alternative. Thanks in advance!!! smile.gif

http://www.photobucket.com never had a problem
http://www.putfile.com never had a problem either
http://www.youtube.com not for images, but
another option would be to find a host with alot of photo capacity and just make the site your images, you could make it pretty and whatnot, or you could just have like:

+html+
+head+
+h1+ Images +/h1+
+/head++body+
+img src="photo.gif"+
+/body++/html+

that way the only way youd get spyware is if you made it, i think
dont know if this is helpful, but thats what i use.

The site Photogiga that I mentioned in one of the threads you are referring to was tested by McAfee Site Advisor and they did not find any significant problems with it. And did I mention it is easy to use?

I just found
Picamatic

Their interface is extremely easy and they allow to upload unlimited amount of images in just a single click!
Works fast, moreover, has absolutely no ads!

as, as you say, CAN imageshack ever be trusted again?
on another site someone posted a link VIA imageshack and I only JUST avoided an infection ...
of interest, I now decline to open any links using imageshack ; I value my computer too much wacko.gif

Wow...its been a while since I've seen this thread. blink.gif

Unfortunately, I still use imageshack...because of bandwidth concerns. I'm the member of a few forums, and I have two blogs, and I'm worried that I'll get blacked out because I've exceeded my bandwidth. I know unlimited bandwidth is a lie, but will any of these sites offer the same/more bandwidth as Imageshack? If I can get that kind of guarantee, than I will switch in a heartbeat...I don't want to infect anybody who wants to look at my images!!

FYI, I try to always imbed my images...that way, no one has to view the imageshack page and risk infection.

That was ages ago.Is there a risk with Imageshack, at the moment? Haven't read anything.

Yeah, me neither.

I've not had a problem with it.

It doesn't hurt to have a few alternatives, though.

well it does serve very annoying popups in the background and they are a potential risk for directing to rogue installs and the like. I chose photobucket ages ago and have never been unsatisfied about that choice.

Why would you even bother, installing Hosting Software,when there are so many, on-line, on demand,Excellent Hosting sites at ones disposal.

Are their any known issues with imagevenue?

After uploading, if I don't close the browser and delete the file just uploaded practically straight-away, I am unable to use ctrl+alt+del.

I get the message:- Logon process has failed to create the security options dialog

A reboot solves the problem.

I am not asking for help, just wondering if imagevenue is known to be problematic.
