I've been using Lavasoft's Ad Aware for sometime now. But with my recent virus/spy/mal/ware problems, it's been acting kind of funny.

I've cleaned most of my computer via Symantec, Spybot, and Panda software. All seems fine, but my Internet Explorer is entirely unusable. The instant I open it, pop-up and sudden download city. So I go to use my other resource, Ad aware.

But now, when I scan with Ad Aware, it makes it into about 6 different problems, still scanning, and then a blue screen with some white letter pops up so fast I can't even tell what it says, and then my computer restarts. This happens everytime I try to scan with the program now.

Any suggestions from anyone? This ever happen before? Any help's grately appreciated.

To get what the message says, try pressing down the Pause/break key on the keyboard. If it is the computer system that is creating the message, this should stop things from continuing. Keep pressing down on the key and write down what the message says, then release the key.

However, if it is the Ad-Aware program creating the message, I'm not sure this will work but it is worth a try anyway.

Question: are you running the Ad-Aware program with IE up and running or shut down? If the former, try running it with IE Shut down. If this doesn't work, try running it in Safe Mode. This is done by hitting on the F8 key several times when you see the black screen before the company logos and stuff come up.
