If your mother board supports AGP, does it matter whether the video crad is 2X/4X or 4X/8X

Depends on whether or not the MB supports either 2X/4X or 4X/8X.
how do you tell? Im loonking in that program Everest. All I see is "5 PCI slots, 1 AGP" I dont see any 2X/4X or 4X/8X.
If you have Everset, look and see what you motherboard is, if it is a VAR product like Dell, Compaq, and so on you will probably need to google the model number and revision to find out what the AGP specs are for it.
Using Everest:
On the left, click the "+" sign next to Motherboard.
Click Chipset.
On the right, under AGP Controller look for Supported AGP Speeds.
Under that it will also list Current AGP Speed.
On the left, click the "+" sign next to Motherboard.
Click Chipset.
On the right, under AGP Controller look for Supported AGP Speeds.
Under that it will also list Current AGP Speed.
Tell us exactly the make and model of your MB.

I've been using Everest for quite a while, and I forgot that you could get those specs. I'll be fifty five this month, does this qualify as a senior moment?
