mad.gif Help! I have tried to install the latest update for iTunes and now I cannot access iTunes at all. The error message is unknown: "iTunes.exe application error - exception privilieged instruction (0xc0000096) occurred at 0x7ca2af84" displays in a error box. I have tried to uninstall and repair iTunes with no luck. Any suggestions? Need Help! PJBrake

Boot into safe mode and try to uninstall ITunes completely using add/remove programs.
If the update still shows seperately after uninstalling Itunes, uninstall it in safe mode as well.

Reboot after the above is accomplished.

If it is successfully uninstalled then reinstall ITunes.

sad.gif Thanks for the suggestions, however, when in safe mode, itunes will not let you uninstall. Error 1719. The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. Any other suggestions! PJBrake

Use Strtup Inspector to disable ITunes or anything connected with Itunes from starting with Windows.

Startup Inspector (manages startup menu – helps you identify aps in the startup menu so you can disable unnecessary programs from running in the background when they are not needed)

And

Startup Monitor (a small freeware ap available on the same page to notify you and require your permission for any program to add itself to your startup menu)

http://www.windowsstartup.com/download.php

After you disable ITunes from the startup menu reboot and try uninstalling it again.

If that isn't successful the information on the following MS Support page might help:
"Error 1719: The Windows Installer service could not be accessed" error message when you try to add or remove a program
