I can only use a proxy if I am in safe mode. I have checked my firewall, for viruses, spyware, and still come up dry. I sometimes have trouble accessing the net without a proxy with the same results.

Also provide more details: what sort of proxy, for what program, what operating system do you use? Do you mean a proxy internet connection? If so, what kind of internet connection do you use? These are all pertinent details in helping you solve the problem.
