whenever i start my xp professional an error message shows up that the file named "strtdb80.exe" is not responding and wants to stop & send error report through microsoft. how can this problem be solved? will uninstalling oracle help?? if so how am i going to uninstall it???

What version of Oracle are you using? Uninstalling Oracle is one solution, as long as part of that means that you don't intend on using Oracle anymore. If it is something that you need to use, then you will have to pursue a different solution.
