I installed a ECS K7AMA motherboard, and so far everything is as expected, except that the desktops background is white and has the recovery message, this doesn't bother me...been there done that.

The problem is that there is no pointer/cursor, I have changed out the mouse, and both of the ones I've tried have worked on my other computer. One connects via the USB, and the other plugs into the traditional six pin connector, so I'm assuming it isn't the sockets.

I check in th BIOS, and the mouse is enabled.

Is anyone familiar with this board? Did I miss a jumper?

I finally figured it out, or at least part of it, I used the hdd from the previous build without wiping it and reinstalling the OS. As I have discovered, this creates conflicts for the new/er motherboard.

I'm wiping the drive now, and I will reinstal the OS and rest in the morning, this will give me the opportunity to try slipstreaming W2k pro and SP4 together.
