My disc drive isnt reading discs, what am i to do my bretheren

You can get a floppy disk drive cleaner at your local electronics store. They are fairly cheap. Apply the solution to the cleaning disk and insert it into your floppy. You can also get a floppy drive at a computer store. Replacement is fairly easy. Pay attention as to how you remove the old drive and replace the new drive in the reverse manner.

If you are talking about cd-rom or DVD-rom you can do the same thing with a cleaning cd.
