i have recently purchased a used computer but at start up it asks for a novell log in i do not have that info and there is no way for me to get to the control panel or anything else without bypassing that. is there a way to bypass it? will replacing the memory card help?

Replacing the memory will not help. As for the first question, try this search on Google:

It looks like other people have the same problem. It seems that you have to wipe out the hard drive and reinstall Windows.
