Einstein's Riddle!
There are 5 houses in 5 different colors. In each house lives a person with a different nationality. The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, or drink the same beverage.
The question is: Who owns the fish? Just to make sure you are not making any wild guessing, please include the nationality, color, beverage and brand of cigar.
Hints: - The Brit lives in the red house.
- The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
- The Dane drinks tea.
- The green house is on the left of the white house.
- The green homeowner drinks coffee.
- The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
- The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
- The man living in the center house drinks milk.
- The Norwegian lives in the first house.
- The man who smokes Blend lives next to the one who keeps cats.
- The man who keeps the horse lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
- The owner who smokes Bluemaster drinks beer.
- The German smokes prince.
- The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
- The man who smokes Blend has a neighbor who drinks water.
Einstein wrote this riddle early during the 19th century. He said 98% of the world could not solve it. Its not hard, you just need to pay attention and be patient.

Woah, nice riddles
Djk. I didn't get the first one at all and gave up instantly (I'm 98% of people

I've only just realised how stupid I am; and how obvious the answer is when you know it.

Just like the initial question posed in this thread,

It's called question zero or puzzel zero.
It's a basic psych study question.

Next riddle
A fellow encountered a bear in a wasteland. There was nobody else there. Both were frightened and ran away. Fellow to the north, bear to the west. Suddenly the fellow stopped, aimed his gun to the south and shot the bear. What colour was the bear?
If you don't know, this may help you: if the bear ran 3.14 times faster than the fellow (still westwards), the fellow could have shot straight in front of him, however for the booty he would have to go to the south.Warm regards,
Kyle

How does he get them all safely over the stream?Warm regards

I know a word of letters three. Add two, and fewer there will be. What is it?
Regards,
Djk
erm just me being awckward (sp) but i thought it was this.... three has 5 letters add two to three, which gives you five which only has 4 letters.....maybe im just being stupid or maybe even overly clever

who knows!
Orange Blossom
Dec 10 2006, 08:39 PM
Nope. The riddle says that by adding the two letters, you will have fewer. Five is more than three, so it couldn't work. Also, "I know a word of letters three," translates to everyday English to, "I know a word with three letters."
Few has three letters. Add two letters, and you have the word
fewer which has five letters.
