I'm planning to get a new video card for my computer, since my 64MB integrated graphics make even 5-year-old games lag.
My question is: Will I have to reinstall Windows and lose all my data after installing the new video card? I heard a reviewer at NewEgg say that you'd need to reinstall Windows when changing hardware, and last time I reinstalled Windows because of a malfunctioning Norton, I lost every single thing on the hard drive.
I'd really like this answered before I lose my life.

The reviews on Newegg and similar places are worthless. They are missinforming when they aren't flat out lies.
No, you do not need to reinstall Windows when getting a new graphics card. You have to uninstall the old graphics drivers and install the new ones.

Alright, thanks. I was always wondering if that was true or not.

And just to had you might have to disable the onboard graphics in the BIOS... but alot of the newer ones diable it automaticaly.
