She actually let me pick her right up.
I live out in the woods and there are a lot of strays. They are all wild. Except for the cat that is my baby now. When I first saw her, I meowed to see if she was friendly--the wild cats always run. But my baby got excited to hear a friendly voice and meowed back to me in a way that said
Heeelllllllp!!!. Let me pick her right up too.
So she adopted me. I named her Madonna. For the Beatles song. In the next day or two she brought three kittens out of the woods. So..."Lady Modonna, childern at your feet..." Someone abondoned her, probably because she had kittens. But she is one of the friendliest cats I've ever been around--loves to be held and was obviously an indoor cat that was treated well--for a while.
When I tell people her name they look at me with one of "those" grins and say something like, "Oh, you named her after Madonna?" I say, no and relate the story, but then I have to say she does have the morals of...well a cat that hasn't been fixed. She had several litters, til I got tired of finding homes for all those kittens. So there were times when I had more than six cats around. It was a lot of fun for a while tho.
I've got some pictures somewhere but can't seem to locate them. When I do I'll post.
