smile.gif You have a calico kitty HM.

My favorite!

I had one once upon a time.
Sadly, she is no longer with me. sad.gif

I agree. When I first posted a picture of my cat, it took me about an hour to figure out how to use imageshack, and another hour to find the right code for the forum and how to paste it so that the picture would show up!! It almost drove me insane! crazy.gif

Keep at it, zombi!! We've all been there! laugh.gif

This is going to be a great daily activity for me. I am new to BC and while my moniker is 4catsme, I actually have 6 now. Don't want to change, I have too many to remember. The picture I use on MSN is the grey cat and the machine gun. (I know the cat is the neighborhood watch cat for the errant dogs). It is one of my favorites.

Six cats?? Wow. My family has enough trouble dealing with the two we have; six would drive us over the edge!! However, we still love them, no matter how annoying they sometimes are heart.gif .

4catsme, please post pics of your cats!!! We would like to see them!!! If you aren't sure how, here is a good tutorial, written by one of our esteemed mods:

Thanks 4rmsevr. Actually having that many cats is not bad just furry. They tend to keep each other in line. Anyway if you saw one of them thrown out in the middle of a blizzard and he has always been an indoor cat and he is still a baby, you would go get him. My last rescue was eating out of the trash barrels at my apartment complex. She actually let me pick her right up.

I will gladly share pictures when I figure out my digital camera.

Thanks for the link you sent, I am sure that I will need to review that.
Scarlett
I can't wait to see them. I love kitties!

She actually let me pick her right up.

I live out in the woods and there are a lot of strays. They are all wild. Except for the cat that is my baby now. When I first saw her, I meowed to see if she was friendly--the wild cats always run. But my baby got excited to hear a friendly voice and meowed back to me in a way that said Heeelllllllp!!!. Let me pick her right up too.

So she adopted me. I named her Madonna. For the Beatles song. In the next day or two she brought three kittens out of the woods. So..."Lady Modonna, childern at your feet..." Someone abondoned her, probably because she had kittens. But she is one of the friendliest cats I've ever been around--loves to be held and was obviously an indoor cat that was treated well--for a while.

When I tell people her name they look at me with one of "those" grins and say something like, "Oh, you named her after Madonna?" I say, no and relate the story, but then I have to say she does have the morals of...well a cat that hasn't been fixed. She had several litters, til I got tired of finding homes for all those kittens. So there were times when I had more than six cats around. It was a lot of fun for a while tho.

I've got some pictures somewhere but can't seem to locate them. When I do I'll post.
acklan
I have two rescues from 13 years ago. I had strays at my old apertment. They had a policy against it, but I would trap them have'em fixed and turn them back out. They liked that. My vet would come by when I called him and vac. them at the apartment. My baby Tom is in post #79
rms4evr
There are a lot of strays and neglected cats (is-owners toss them outside and barely take care of them) around our neighborhood. And my mom feeds all of them. And when our cat of eleven years, Pumpkin (post #83), died, we took in a stray named Fluffy (post #102). Fluffy is fixed and declawed, which probably means that she had owners, but they kicked her out. As a result, she is very moody, and acts like she expects us to stab her in the back. She also likes to fight with our other cat, Radar (also post #102).But we try to give her food and love, and she has been with us since December. It also helps that Radar is a super friendly cat, who doesn't seem to mind when Fluffy takes swings at him with her paw hysterical.gif . She is slowly coming around; she loves to be petted, and she and Radar have begun to observe an uneasy truce.

Don't get me wrong; we love our cats; but sometimes they give us grief (ie hacking up hairballs dry.gif ).
acklan
Admit it. You would not have it any other way. I know I would not.

Kitty was skinny & afraid of people until I started to feed her & pet her.
Now she is my friend & is fat & happy when I see her at the farm.
She purrs now. She used to not purr...
I like kitty.
She likes me.
Scarlett
Oh more cute little kitties.
Scarlett wants a kitty too!

I didn't notice BC got this cats page!
I've always wanted so long to share my cats pix, here's my cats. (notice the special date 5-5-05) smile.gif
Kimmi (on left) is the one I used for my avantar, with a wig & glasses added.
Kimmi is picked up from my condominium car park since new born (someone removed her mother & siblings..)
I used to bottle fed her. Bibi is found at the rooftop of the car park, it's mother also missing.
Kimmi likes to lick my face to wake me up in the morning. Bibi likes to sit beside me and watch me doing my house chores. They are both my darlings smile.gif
acklan
grinner.gif Thank you. I needed a smile.
Verons88
You're welcome, acklan. I'm very happy to share actually.

Verons88, your kitties are darling!!! in_love.gif

no one, I almost died after viewing the Kitten War site; they are just too cute!!

Ok, this is my birthday present (3 years ago almost)....I named her Lola. She's anti social, and hides when people come to visit, doesn't like to play, doesn't like people, doesn't like to be pet unless she's in a good mood. She loves to eat and sleep...in that order. She's not fat, just big boned!!!

All in all, she's a good cat really! This is her trying to fit her head through a hole in a desk (the wholes that you can stick your wires and plugs through). Pfffttt. Crazy cat! whistling.gif

Verons88
I'm surprised to see that there's so many cat lovers here in BC. "Thats good! that's good!"

Ohh, I've always loved cats. I wanted a fat, lazy cat that just wanted to sit on my lap and let me pet it while it purrs. Instead, I got a fat, lazy cat that seldom purrs and attacks my feet when I'm sleeping (which hurts because she's not declawed!).

Oh, and credit for the photo goes to my son "Jake(almighty?)" LOL! I've got a dog too (puppy)...I should post some pics in the dog pics thread too!

The way it sounds, I don't know if he's a cat owner, or the cat owns him. laugh.gif

So True.

I just noticed this thread! It's great! We've got 8 - a Bluepoint Siamese, a regular Siamese, a Persian, and 5 "shed" cats (they were born under our shed).

Along with the 6 dogs and the chinchilla - the place is a real zoo! (FWIW - my wife is a vet).

It's the flash from the camera that did that to their eyes - I'm not real good with a camera sad.gif

No, no, no! It's not you're fault John! Without getting into the technical aspect of the angle of the flash, the shape/make up of the animals eyes and the plane that the flash is on in comparison to the lens along with the amount of available ambient light......the best way around glowing eyes (cats) or red eyes (dogs) is to change the photo (or shoot the original) to/in black and white. Downfall is that sometimes the cats still appear to have "large" eyes, as their eyes will still "glow" when hit with the flash.

Same thing goes for "red-eye" with people! wink.gif

Oh, and as for not being good with a camera...don't beat yourself up! Actually, the photos are cropped nicely, and the subject (cat) is pretty well centered! Not to bad a job at all! thumbup2.gif
