I am getting a message stating: "A USB Device has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of its HUB port. You should disconnect the device." It then gives me option of reset or close.
I have nothing connected to any USB Port!

Did you try the "reset" function and then reboot?
marklafan
yes, i have tried both of those things.

It may be a hardware problem or hopefully just corrupted drivers.

Open your device manager and see if you have any red or yellow warning icons on any of the usb hubs or devices.

If so, delete everything that has such an icon, reboot and let Windows find it and reinstall it.

If that doesn't cure it you may have hardware problems.
