Checked the database for ABoard.exe, not found.

I knew it was an OK PackardBell appn but wasn't sure exactly what. Found the answer here: http://www.fileresearchcenter.com/ :

Seems to be a simple, useful site.

Is this file on your machine? If so what program are you using to examine the startup entries?

Hi Grinler. Sorry for the delay - wasn't expecting a reply.

It shows up in msconfig/startup, and in Spybot/Tools/Startup it shows as ACTVBOARD c:\apps\ABOARD\Aboard.exe.

It is a new entry. My PC was recently away for repair due to a corrupt boot.ini file and a reinstall was done. I assumed it the result of an update from Packard-Bell at that time.

Do you regard it as suspicious???

No i think its part of possible your acer open mother board but thats a guess. Can you submit it to http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/submit-malware.php so i can take a look?
Grinler
Its part of NEC and is legit. No idea if its needed to run though unfortunately.

Thank you.

Never needed it before so I guess I'll take it off startup anyway.

Cheers
