Hi there, I'm currently learing Windows server 2003 study book, not sure about CALs, can someone tell me in which cases do I need CALs? Thanks.

For example: If I have Exchange installed on server2003, do I need them?
Mr Smooth
You will need CALS for the Windows server yes. Any Windows Server 2003 comes with 5 User/device CALS.
Whether it has Exchange or not on it is beside the point. If you have 20 users needing to use exchange at any one time you will need 20 CALS to access the windows server.
