Ok so I want to buy a new computer. I'm an intel guy, and i've been looking at all the Dual-Cores chips, etc. My question is should I wait for this new chip the CONROE? Will the CONROE be way too expensive at release? Will Dual-Core prices drop?, and should I go with that. Thanks.

Generally I dont' recommend waiting, but I do now. I'm not at all impressed with the Pentium D, so if you want a dual-core either wait for Conroe or go AMD.
Besides, rumour-mill has it that there is a price-war coming up in July between AMD and Intel. We're talking up to 50-60% price-cuts on dual-cores. Conroe is also being released at very reasonable prices.

What is CONROE? Is it Intel or AMD or neither?

Conroe is the codename for Intels upcoming architecture. It'll sell as "Core 2", and according to everything known now, it seems to make one helluva processor.

The E6700 Conroe easily whooped the FX-62 in 15(!!) different tests. The only advantage that the 62 had, was in memory read/write tests. Other than that, Conroe totally showed AMD that they are not ready for the future at the moment.
