M GUSHUE
I AM LOOKING FOR THE NAME OF AN EXTERNAL RECORDING DEVICE TO SAVE ALL MY FILES AND INFORMATION ON , CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL WHAT I NEED TO BE LOOKING FOR?
just me
Get either:
  1. An external USB 2.0 hard drive.
    --- or ---
  2. An internal hard drive and a USB 2.0 drive enclosure to put it in.
Personally I use Retrospect to backup my data. It is an incremental backup that allows you to restore any file to any point in time that a dump was taken.

ps: As a matter of courtesy, please do not use Caps Lock when posting. It is hard to read and it is consider as shouting.
dc3
Depending on the size of the files you could just store them on CDs (700MB), or DVDs (4.5GB), or Blu-Ray DVDs (25GB). Stored someplace where they won't get scratched or melted they will last longer than you.
