Hi Guys,

I've got a 2G Rundisk USB stick..that I'm trying to access on my laptop. For some reason whenever I try to access the drive and double click on it I am getting this message

" The disk in drive E is not formatted
do you want to format it now?"

If I press no the window closes and I'm back to whereI started..If I press yes I get a FORMAT Removable Disk Dialog Box...saying that if I format the disk I will lose all my data...and I don't really want that...

Is there a way to get around this? or is my only resort to format my disk and save my USB stick and lose the data?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Happens alot. Usually due to people just pulling the drive out without using the windows "safely remove hardware" function, though they do not last forever and sometimes just go south. smile.gif
I'd try the drive in another computer.
If it's still a problem, before you format it you may still be able to get the data off it with Smart Flash Recovery, it's freeware.

Thanks, mate...

Yeah I think I'm guilty of doing the above..I was suspicious that it was the problem..now learnt my lesson and won't do it again...

Thanks for your help..
