I thought that it would be fun for us all to post a snapshot of our desktops. I feel the images that we are drawn to, provide a little insight to all of us as individuals. And with that thought in mind. We just may get to know each other a little better. And I'm sure all of us may find what we may have in common with some of our fellow members. Besides I'll just love to see what you all have choosen!

How to:

> Hit the Print Screen key
> Open Paint
> Then hit both the ctrl , v. keys simultaneously.

This also works with InfranView ( A great little free image viewer and converter. I might add.)

Then click on > file
>save as
>In drop down choose type. >jpeg, .gif
Then clear box and type in choice of name.
( So you be able to find it easier in next step.)

After you have your screenshot you need to host the picture somewhere.
I recommend Image Shack
It's free and easy to use.

>Sign up, log-in

> click on the > browse button.
Find your screenshot and then click > Host It
> Click on the My Images link @ the top of page
Your picture will upload and you will now see it .
Look for the Thumb Nail Code for Forums
Then copy and paste the link to your post.

Note: If you ever delete the pic. from your photo hosting site. It will no longer show in your post.

Picture a 17" screen ,Black, W/ Recycle bin ,My doc, My computer and Briefcase
that would be it for '98.

Reflecting on my latest obsession: Shadow Hearts II (Shadow Hearts Covenant here in the US) for Playstation 2. I LOVE this image, and when someone online made a wallpaper of it, I downloaded and put it on my desktop very quickly. Ironically, the man depicted in the image, Yuri, kills giant spiders in the game!!

hey ambush, how did you get those extra panels on mandriva? is that gnome with kde icons? i've been trying to figure out how to get more panels on my mdv2006 but it won't allow me to add more. here's my dual monitor setup with gkrellm and liquid weather.

I was like MY keyboard does NOT look like that...then, I moved it out from under the screen it is tilted under on an angle....and where you show the "print screen" mine is blank and says DELL....BUT....next to that (in your white area) is where I have 3 little keys hidden by my screen being I angled this keyboard unknowingly.

A new desktop i made a short while ago. It's still pretty rough. I need to even out the lines of the star and make them smoother. I don't have that much free time now though

My desktop images usually come from Astronomy Picture of the Day. This is one of my favorite images...it is the Pleiades star cluster. It's an open cluster of young, massive (and very hot) stars. The halos are created by dust clouds that scatter the blue part of the spectrum. You can actually see it with the naked eye. Find the constellation Orion...look up and right. Orion's belt points right to it!
