Well, my piece-o-junk '98 ford contour just lost it's transmission, along with a ball joint and about $1k in other "stuff". So, now I'm driving a 1990 Mercury Cougar. It's got 123,000+ miles on it. The brakes are rusted on, front and rear. Needs shocks and springs. Front windshield is cracked. Rear view mirror falls off at will. Radio doesn't work, nor does the tape deck. Wheel wells are so rusted that the mudflaps have fallen off, and I can't put them back on because there's nothing there to hold them on. The brake lines were so rusted that 3 out of 4 of them leaked (yes, I had them replaced). The frame is so rusted that it's going to snap....the 2 mechanics I've seen have both given it 6 months to a year to live. The outside is all rusted and the paints peeling off. It looks worse than my contour (which looked REALLY REALLY BAD!).
The interior is in (honestly) showroom condition. Power everything, cruise, tilt steering, 8 way power seat, plush cloth (and very comfortable) seats, electronic "digital display" dash instrument panel, middle arm rest in back seat, automatic seatbelts. Ok, maybe not showroom condition due to the rear view mirror, but I'm getting the windshield replaced this tuesday, so they'll glue a new one on

.
It's by far, without a doubt, the roomiest car that I've ever owned. Runs like it's brand new, and can squak the tires should I choose. I love it.
Oh, so, ya, I get the junky crappy rust buckets to drive. The wife gets the brand new 2005 hyundai Sante Fe, all wheel drive, fully loaded SUV. Oh, and she gets my paycheck too
