Im having a problem starting up my computer, I cant even get to my desktop. When I switch the PC on it attempts to boot and then comes a blue screen with a STOP message. I cant get any further than this point. I do not have any of the original disks to re-install. Any ideas?????

I had this situation a long time ago. This may not be the fix but worth a try as it was my fix. Some how my SATA cable got loose. I just pushed it back on. Point being check all connections and that hardware are seated firmly. Some times it's the little things.
Hope this works as I was quite relieved.

Hi everyone, my mom's computer hsa a similar problem. One day she booted up the computer. She got as far as the Win2000 loading screen before she got a blue screen with this message: STOP:0x0000007B ( Inacessible boot device. She's computer semi-literate and hasn't done anything substantial with the computer save browsing the internet. I'm out of ideas, and since we bought it used on Ebay, we don't have a boot disk. any suggestions would be appreciated.
