Amazing Andrew
Star Trek: Armada I; the end all, be all Star Trek themed game (provided, of course that a sufficiently cool mod is installed, like the Millennium Project or Battlestations 4.3)
Firehair12000
Hmmmmmm, playstation would be between final fantasy x and metal gear solid. PC I don't really have a stand out, but I do love X-Wing Alliance (the forgoten X-Wing game I feel) and Star Trek: Bridge Commander, like the Amazing Andrew said, there are still people that make mods and stuff for these games.
Amazing Andrew
Yes! I even made one or two small ones way back in the 20th century!

You both have good taste in games!!

Although, mokilok my favorite Monkey Island game was not the second one. It just seemed too much like a Bugs Bunny cartoon to me; good for a cartoon, but too much for the Monkey Island series.

I don’t know, AA...I thought Armada wasn't very good. Only a handful of units, and cookie-cutter unit classes (each vessel class has an exact counterpart in the 4 navies), and I think the resource model was kinda weak.

I don't care for any RTS weapons that easily "convert" enemies or "repel" damage. IMO, they are lame excuses for weapons in any RTS, but they didn't exist in the Trek universe either.

The cinematic camera modes looked cool but had little impact on gameplay.

On the plus side, I did like the smooth movements of the ships...and graphically it was a "pretty" game. Also the "wormholes" were kind of neat, moving ships across the map..

In general, though I dig Star Trek, I have found that most Trek games are let-downs. Though Star Trek: Legacy looks like it might be pretty cool: http://startrek.bethsoft.com/games/legacy-overview.html

But like I say...Supreme Commander...that's a game I'd build a new machine for. thumbup2.gif thumbup.gif

My favorite games of all times...Hrmmmm...so many.

1, The orignal Megaman series! ( Just plain fun )
2, Sonic series for Sega Genesis ( Still have that game for my Genesis )
3, Mech Warrior ( Why not, damn amazing DirectX effects! )
4, Halo 1-2 ( They're fun, but much more fun once you read the books for them )
5, Doom 1 ( C'mon, once that hardcore Midi music started up, you couldn't stop! The game's still fun to play at school over the LAN network! )
Andersson
Day of Defeat 1.3 (well, 1.1 and 1.2 were much better), not the source version.
Perfect Dark 64, the best single player game ever.
Red Orchestra
usasma
The old, old (circa 1984/5) Star Wars video game that was found in arcades. The one with the steering yoke on the console and you dropped bombs into the Death Start to destroy it.
Wildabeast
Diablo 2, LOD. I still play that game. The terrain is always changing game to game. And you know you have the same troubles you're just not sure where they will show up.
Tavern
Final Fantasy VII

The third bards tale was incredible.

For console, Dragon Warrior 1 and 4.
For computer, Empire Earth.

John
Wizdabest
Empire earth was interesting in how you could go from the begining of mankind to the future in technology.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, great game right there.

I didn't ever play Empire Earth, but I heard it was good. Sounds similar to Rise of Nations, which is a mighty-fun game.
jgweed
EE2 is very similar to RON; I prefer the original EE, and keep coming back to it every so often. There is more play to it and it is more complex than its successor and RON, both of which seem to get boring after a couple of weeks.
Of course, there is always Rome:Total War, too.
Cheers,
John

FINAL FANTASY VII BABY! Awsome AWSOME story, and the way its told is even better.

RoN is fun now and again in World Domination mode; it's like RISK with RTS battles. It's a good game for multi-player games as well.

I got Rome with great anticipation; I love history, and I was fascinated at the sheer number of individual units. But when I actually played the game...well, I just didn't care for it. I guess I prefer RTS games where you have more control over what's going on. But then, maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance..

Indeed MGS is definitly worth the recognition, with that said however, i would have to say Gray Fox makes it happen. smile.gif
Wizdabest
A game such as Empire Earth is better if you just want to collect resources and fight small(er) scale battles. A game like Rome: Total War is for when you want awsomely large scale battles (such as myself). Sure, games like EE and Age of Empires are fun, but when I want a large amount of soldiers clashing, Rome: Total War (and the whole series) is my first choice and when I say large scale, I mean from hundreds to thousands of soldiers and not a couple groups of 40 guys fighting it out while I have 40+ villagers/citizens collecting stuff on the other side of the map.

*edit* yes, Metal Gear Solid (not Twin Snakes) rocks!
Slayer6571
my favorite game will soon be battlefield 2142...in like...a month...LOL
napoleon1
Best game of all time...got to be Dungeon Master on the Atari thumbup.gif
~MaSeN~
There was only one person who mentioned the best game of all time, hands down....

STARCRAFT!? I've been playing this game since day one, and I think I always will!

Then I would have to say...
Rival Schools (I think I saw someone else mention this game, kudos to them ;)
FF7, 9, 10 and 10-2.
Super Mario Cart.
Super Mario Bros. 2.
Scrabble!

There's a couple more I can list... but to be bluntly honest. After playing StarCraft for the past... 8 years maybe, there is no better game. Not even the Expansion version to StarCraft is fun to me. SC 4 L1f3!
Robin_norway
Hmmm, a toughie ^^

There are many games I love/loved.

PSX/PS2:
The Gran Turismo series, TOCA Race Driver series, Formula 1 series (hmm that cover the driving?) VRROOOOOMMMM thumbup.gif
The Godfather, Final Fantasy (VII, VIII and IX), Resident Evil and Silent Hill series.

PC:
Hmm my PC isn't top shelf so... dry.gif

Baldur's Gate II, StarCraft Broodwars YAY (it even works playing online) crazy.gif Football Manager 2007, Neverwinter Nights (1) Warcraft 2 (I don't like Warcraft 3 very much), the Civilization series, Doom series (again 3 is not my favorite) and the Age of Empires series.

How do I find time to play them all? Oh... that's right... I don't... sad.gif
(These are just some of my favorite games)
^_^
coolking13

Anyone ever play Homeworld or Homeworld 2? Both great games!!
Matthew.
I used to love Diablo II: LOD. I gotta admit, I was pretty good. I believe I still have my account, I've asked someone to take care of it for me. I forgot what patch cause i'm getting all confused with other games but I know we couldn't dupe anymore.

Now, I usually play o2 Jam once in a while when I am bored. Its pretty cool cause its like playing piano on your keyboard while tons of notes are coming down at once.

Warcraft 3 had its time as well as starcraft!!!
Wizdabest
Well, Diablo 2: LOD is on patch 1.11 and it's still possible to dupe (though I'm not aware how) because many of the high runes aren't safe to trade from dupes.

Speaking of Diablo, apparently Diablo 3 is in the works and it starts up after the end of Diablo 2 where the battle between Heaven and Hell have taken the battle over everything more into Heaven. I think players will be playing as angels or something. Not much has been given away, save for minute details.
petergriffinlol
Of the older games, i really liked Pitfall Harry for Atari. I didnt like the playstation remake.
idk
StartCraft: Brood War
GunBound
Ratchet and Clank series
Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2
Little Fighter 2
Matthew.
Hey, Wizdabeast, are there any new runewords? Other than the runewords from last year? IE; Spirit, griffons, etc.
I hope Tenjuna still has my account. lol
