Centipede was my favorite. Doom 3 was best new game, tho I don't get to play alot now.
Wizdabest
Metal Gear Solid (PS1), my all time classic. Half Life (1 and 2 and mods like CS) is also a good runner up
locally pwned
Wing Commander series, back on my 486/66..

X-wing vs Tie fighter (and just plain "X-wing" and "Tie Fighter," on floppies, before that).

The C&C series (excluding Generals, sorry guys).

Unreal, UT, UT2004: I've spent many an hour frag-whoring on low g maps. tongue.gif

Half-Life. DM at lans in '98 and '99 on. Of course, the phenomenon we refer to as Counter-Strike was my personal addiction off and on since around version 1.1, through STEAM 1.6, and on to CS Source.

But of course, the top of the my heap, the best RTS game ever, Total Annihilation! thumbup.gif

cowsgonemadd3
Well I liked Call of Duty 2
And I also liked Empire earth and AOE games.
BobbySocks
mine are tetris thumbup.gif and of course super mario clapping.gif
Twistshifter2
Well pong was my first favorite game but now, its HALO 2 and First Person shooters,
any sports games,
if you play xbox live

Doritokiller
I'd have to say Super Mario Brothers 3, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Final Fantasy VI, Metal Gear Solid, Katamari Damacy, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and a few others. tongue.gif
conk
metal gear, halo etc you know the usual stuff but at the top of the list has got to be BUBBLE BOBBLE that game rules thumbup.gif
stevealmighty
I'd have to say a toss up between the first Mario bros game and the first Zelda game!

Next would probably be CnC Generals (along with the Zero Hour expansion pack)!
rahman_gantenk
Me...

Crono Cross from PSX thumbup2.gif
Daniel G
Crash Team Racing (PS1) and Battlefield 1942 :D
Elendil
StarCraft Broodwar (Blizzard Game), Warcraft III and Frozen Throne (Blizzard Games), and Baldur's Gate Shadow of Amn & Throne of Bhaal (Black Isles Games). The first three games by Blizzard (SC BW, WCIII, and WC FT) are amazing RTS (Real Time Strategy) games that are extremely fun for me and include a gigantic online gaming server/system. Baldur's Gate is sort of old but an excellent RPG with a thrilling story line that addicted me until the real-world with its onslaught of work caught up to me.
wulfgar_117
BEST GAME EVER IN CREATION would have to be final fantasy 7, followed half a step behind by final fantasy 9. Coming back to modern times i would have to say Elder Scrolls Oblivion is by far the best game on the market today IMO
obededom
OOOhhh hard to answer that question.

Any of the following (in no particular order):

step1.gif Diablo 2 and Diablo 2:LOD
step2.gif All Sonic games
step3.gif Every Mario
step4.gif Halo
step5.gif Zelda: Ocarina of Time

It's really hard to to decide on a favorite game of all time... there are just so many to choose from, but I also agree with Elendil on these game:

StarCraft Broodwar (Blizzard Game), Warcraft III and Frozen Throne (Blizzard Games)

in addition to some other RTS', such as Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 1&2, Total Annihilation, wow... it could just go on forever.
Modulus
Unreal 1: Played the multiplayer for about a year... Single player and co-op were awesome.
Unreal1 - Return to Na Pali: Expansion for Unreal... Lots of fun.
Unreal Tournament: Played this game for about 4 years... Got quite good at it too... I was in some of the top clans back then like EvX (evolution x), XxX (101 proof), NBK (natural born killas) and DD (dark desciples). Not one of the best players in the game, but I could definetly contend with the best players... Had a great time getting to the top of the ladders back in the day for TDM, 1v1 DM, and CTF.
Unreal Tournament 2007: I HOPE!! 2k3 and 2k4 were dissapointing for me... Hopefully 2k7 will bring back the UT goodness I had with UT99.
Diablo 2: LoD: Man... This game rocked... I played it for at least a year for hours every day... Fun fun fun.
WoW: I hate it now... But it was fun when I first got it for a couple months.
Wizardry: Played it on my IBM PCjr back in the 80's and again with my SNES... Fun RPG.
Grinler
Back in its heyday Ultima Online rocked. I was a dread lord and had a great time murdering people smile.gif

Other great games:

Wizardry Series
Ultima Series
Early Might and Magics (1-4) 5+ just sucked
Half Life 1 and 2
Call of Duty
Most of the Bioware titles
Fear is excellent.

Damn i play too many games.
-David-
I got Call of Duty 2 day before yesterdat and it is probably the best game i've ever played. Apart from that probably Pro Evolution Soccer on PS2, or F.E.A.R on PC, both superb games.
David

Just finished Fear two nights ago...creepy ending.

Horror first persons are great.
graveangel
You know, i have thought long and hard (many many times) over this and i just cannot come up with ONE particular game,so im going to cheat and say:

-SWOS (Sensible World Of Soccer) I honestly, along with school friends, lost around 2 years of my life to this game on the Amiga!
-Mario Bros 3, what a game!
-Doudble Dragon, the best side scrolling beat em up EVER!
-The Dizzy Games (anyone remember them?)
-The Resident evils 0-4, perhaps maybe be my fav games ever huh.gif
-Monkey Island, click and point.......come on we all loved this one!

Plus a few more, but those retro ones mentioned hold a special place in my heart hysterical.gif

Seriously though, they were all great games! thumbup.gif

I was playing in the complete dark and when you fly away in that helicopter I thought I'd done it! Well I won't ruin it for anyone, but I got scared so badly!! ohmy.gif
F.E.A.R defiantly ranks amongst the greats!
I also like the multiplayer, but not as much as the single player.
David
Wizdabest
The ending of F.E.A.R. at like 2am was a great way to end the christmas spirit.
J_pyro_C
my favorite game of ALL time is Counter-Strike Condition Zero!!!!!!!!!!!
Wizdabest
lol, I've gone by the saying (that I just made up)

"Once you go CZ, theres no going back (1.6)."
LTDEW
The original Master of Orion remains my all-time favorite...even though I now need DOSBox to play it. Baldur's Gate and Fallout Tactic are tied for second place. But, it looks like Galactic Civilization II is going to claim the top spot eventually.

Oh yeah...Missle Command in the arcades really was a favorite, too.
MathsDude

I never bothered with CZ. My friends and I just played 1.6 until Source came out.

Even after, we still have played 1.6 now and again...for a lan, or perhaps when someone wants to play and doesn't own a Source-worthy machine. Anyway, 1.6 comes right back...it's just as much fun in terms of game-play...even though its engine 'dates back from antiquity.'

But I have always been of the opinion that graphics and appearance are far less important than game-play.

Someone just mentioned CoD 2…how does it compare to the first one? I have had the first one for a relatively short time and feel like I haven’t played it enough to bother buying the new one. I picked up the gold edition and haven’t even tried the expansion pack, United Offensive.

There are so many games I like, I'm an RPG fanatic so all of my games are those...
  1. Final Fantasy 7, 10, 8, and 9 (in that order)
  2. Suikoden III, IV, and V
  3. Grandia II and III
  4. Skies of Arcadia
  5. Baldur's Gate (including all expansions and sequels)
aslyfox
Mystic quest <-- Very old RPG like game for the gameboy.
Deus EX <-- Both the original and Invisible Wars. Those two games kept me going for months smile.gif
Half Life 2 <-- And Source of course.
Diablo II <-- Who can forget this classic.
Every Command and Conquer game. <-- Everyone has played a game in this series before. Tiberian Sun, the *best* RTS that I have ever played.
Bomberman <-- Used to spend hours playing this game.
Metal Gear Solid <-- Played a demo somewhere, then went out and bought it and Metal Gear Solid 2. Snake Eater was a tiny bit of a let down, and MGS 4, I haven't seen the trailers for it yet, so I can't really comment on that.
jitterbox
Total Annihilation or Halo, but there are a lot of others i like too.
AmBush
When you say "Favorite game of All Time"

Odd..... this thread's been here for a while and i haven't posted... i must be slacking....

Anyway, my favorite game of all time is a very close tie between Metal Gear Solid 3 and MGS1. Mgs3 was the only game that actually got me so involved, a tear (single one, mind you) escaped from my eye during the ending. No other game has been able to pull me in that much.

Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution (Ps2)
Starseige: Tribes (PC).... the online multiplayer was freakin awesome
Half-Life 1 and 2
Counter-Strike..... all of them
World of Warcraft
Final Fantasy 7 and 8 (Ps1)
Rival Schools (fighting game for ps1)
Tomb Raider 2 (Ps1)
Mortal Kombat 3 (Genesis)
Comix Zone (Genesis)
Blades of Steel (NES)

Half Life
CS 1.6 I never got into CZ
Battlefield 1942 + the expansions R2R, Secret Weapons

I believe that Grandia 2 was released on the PC.
