I thought it would be cool to see what other peoples desk look like...

It would be even better if you didn't clean it up before just for fun...

BTW To awnser the question I am sure you are going to ask me. Yes my mom does ask me to clean it up...



This is a picture of my old desk that I hated (too unconfortable...) so I put our Epson R300 Photo Stylus in there and the scanner is on top. You can also see to the left on top is my Saitek X45 Flight Controls.




Here are two pictures of the desk I use now. I took two cause I have a wall behind me and couldn't zoom out less. Anyways there on the left that yellow monitor (use to be white) is from my old computer that is now the server and I use that monitor as my second when I need it. You can also see around the right monitor my 5.1 speakers. Then we have my phone and then that grey box with the knife above it is my brand new VoIP modem. Then beside that I have my D-Link DI-604 router. Now sure if you can see it but in between the two monitors I also have a wirelesst Nexxtech FM intercom. And yes I keep I bottle of windex beside me cause I hate a dirty screen .

My bed; Before I get any comments about the magazine on the bed, I can assure you it is a Popular Science. Look at the floor, even look underneath my nightstand.

That's my setup at home for the summer..... My box is on a card-table, sitting right in front of the tv, and perfect access from a futon (not pictured). So far, i have the most comfortable seat (a whole futon ).

Neatness has got to go to bulldog....

My desk has looked worse, but its pretty constant in the amount of stuff i keep movin from one side to the other lol.

This is from a year ago, but my desk still has the same equipment on it...then the usual desk junk...I took this pic for a project, so I cleaned it off and arranged stuff first.

LOL, I know its like a very old thread - but since I moved to a new flat I also got a new working desk (and monitor ).

Wow I forgot about this topic. I forgot how clean my room was...

Actually now I'm living with my grandma and got a new room. (she's got Roadrunner now... though I'm still paying for it, because she doesn't want to dive into the "Internet") I'll have to submit some pictures of my new room once I "break it in."

Here's mine. It's new, so it's not messed up yet. Holds the CPU & the printer, too.

This is what my desk looks like now, minus the green tea cake that my neighbor gave me, since I ate it. I can barely move my mouse, what a mess. I have things ranging from modeling clay to pom pom critters on my desk.

How can you work on that desk?

I would start smacking my mouse about, from frustrations .

Course I am just joking ;)

Actually, I can't. Not very well, anyway. Since it's easier to move my mouse than make room for my arm to write, I get distracted by my computer often. Fortunately, my keyboard is on one of those sliding keyboard holders, so I can type away on forums...

Sorry for the quality (its all Ubuntu will let me use right now) I you notice its actually clean. Theres just a lot of stuff on it (Old CD Drives/Hard Drives/ Even an extra old large floppy drive, it's so old I forgot the size)

Edit: Yes Those are Toy Trucks on my monitors. Expensive toy trucks.

Love the cabinet!! And isn't neatness a lovely thing - huge grin!

I don't think it's cluttered at all. I get good vibes when I look at it.I hate Pics of workstations that haven't even got 1 piece of paper out of place.They look too Clinical to me.You know they have cleaned prior to the pic being taken.
If you need more space 'Wilderbeast' you could take your plate and cutlery back to the Kitchen,I just noticed on the first shelf.

That's a small paper plate with computer case screws, and screws that hold in drives....

Yes, they are both running on 1 computer. 1 is on the onboard video and the other is on a pci card (an old cheap one at that).

standard finish grade 3/4" plywood, but I did stain it 'Onyx Black'

Here's two. One I built for my wife. And one for me.
They're both made of pine. Both have a tambour that doesn't require a canvas backing.
(think tongue & groove meets ball & socket).
Both have a pull out printer bin.

Messy yes, because I use them both every day.

Gave my bedroom tele to the kids a while ago and put a cheap 15" LCD one on layby. Picked it up yesterday morning and it turned out to be a #$@%&^%$#@. Got my money back and went looking for a replacement - nothing near the same price (not surprised).

Called in to my favourite store and they were doing a 2 year interest free deal so picked up this 19" Samsung. My monitor is away at the other end of the country being repaired at the moment, so I hooked up the TV temporarily and WOW. What a beauty. I think I'm gonna be sorry when the 22" Asus comes back.

(Yes. I know the date's wrong. Forgot to change it b4 I took the photo. LOL.)

I have finally gotten a proper working desk and exchanged it with the half - dinner table I had previously.

I just bought myself a nice new 22" lcd monitor to replace my tiny 15" one.
Only trouble is I never "replace" anything, I just add the new on.
