Well hello everyone,

I just repaired my laptop, ( had to replace mobo, spilled diet coke on it). BTW it is a gateway solo 1450. I was able to get a used board off of ebay. Since I replaced the MOBO it works fine but the display is really DIM, my wifes IBM will do this on battery power but fine when the power cord is plugged in. Any suggestions?

P.S. I did remove the battery and it is still very dim.

Most likely it's the backlight and\or inverter.
I always replace both as a matter of procedure.
Just to make sure, hook an external monitor to it and verify a good picture there first.
