I understand. Your english is OK. You say "my system is not stable when I use the downloaded drivers from nVidia.com. It is not stable using the drivers on the CD I got with the video card, either".

This is what you see at nVidia.com Download Page
Below you will find drivers for all NVIDIA multimedia processors and additional software applications, tools and games designed to demonstrate the exciting features of NVIDIA processors. Simply choose from the selections below and press “Go” when you are ready to download.

It is not so simple. mellow.gif

Please wait for more advice. smile.gif

Hardware conflicts are sometimes easy to fix, but other times, it will require a little more time.

Lets start with the basics so that I know what you have.

What is the brand name of the computer (ex: IBM Aptiva)? The model number on the case would benefit as well.
What is the exact model number of the video card?
Did you have a video card in there before, or are you upgrading from on-board or embedded video?
What version of Windows do you have?

If you are not sure on any of the answers, thats ok. The more you know, the better you can help me help you.

About your English-that is perfectly fine. We do not have any teachers here grading our threads. If we did-I would probably fail all the time tongue.gif .
Sahojiro
No brand name of the computer.
i buy it part for part.

I did find an updated driver (September 17, 2004) for it. It is a unified driver, but it may work for you.

Win XP unified video driver v5.10

If that does not work for you, then there are 2 possible problems: defective card, and power supply problems.

If you have never had the card working properly, then it is likely defective. I would return it to the store that you purchased it. If it was an online purchase, call or E-mail them to see how they handle returns.

If you had the card working sometimes, and then at a certain amount of time, it shuts down, then you may need to upgrade your Power Supply Unit(PSU). When you add a video card, it takes up power. How much is your PSU (in watts)?
Sahojiro
