Hi,

I turned my computer on this morning and it no longer produces sound. It was fine yesterday, but suddenly it's stopped. I'm using a PC with a Asus P4P800S-E Deluxe motherboard (no sound card) and running Windows XP.

I've tried with both my speakers and my headphones and I don't get anything with either. I looked in 'Sounds and Audio Devices' in the Control Panel and it said everything was fine.

Does anyone have any idea how I can correct this problem?

Thanks,
Joe

Have you ran your antivirus and antispyware? That abrupt, it very well could be malware.

Have you checked to make sure the sound didn't get muted?

Did the plug come loose from the computer?

Did the powered speakers get turned off or unplugged?

Hi,

Thanks for your help. I've reinstalled the SoundMax drivers and the sounds back working again.
