Just thought that it would be nice to see if any one besides me still programs in QB? TLK AWAY LOL!!

QB (QuickBasic) is still a good programing language. Full operating systems have been made out of QB entirely.

I still use it and about 20 other arcaine programing languages. TI Basic, Atari Basic, Q Basic, Basic, and probly many more I dont know of. It was nice the way most of these languages were based off of a single root system.

I just dont use it that often

Nice to see someone here still uses it. Is there a place where i can D/L Atari Basic I've been looking for it for months now. I use it for every thing I program but I am learning C++ in my spare time. Ever tried Liberty Basic? It is good for windows. I just what to see what creative things people can do with QB.

it is wierd. So what else do you guys do with QB?

Nothing really. I havent accatually written a full program in almost 5 years now. I write a few lines of commands here and there to mess with my roommates and make the screen flash but thats about it.

The only way I use Atari and TI basic now is to use the code in the QB shell. I learnd Atari basic @ 5 when my parents got a 2600 console computer and TI basic I picked up in HS from using a graphing calc.

I wrote a complete inventory, stock taking and costing suite of programs in QB 4.5 - but that was years ago. I have not used Basic in any form for the last 10 years or so.

At Uni we used DEC VAX Basic for all the applications programming like Finances, Library programs, Student Administration - but that was years ago too :D

Myself and a friend made a 'worms' style tank game using QB4.5 and I had it complied somewhere but I cant find it.

Hmm..I see that I am one of the last ones stuck in the 80's OS's and programing lol. Games are always fun to make and so are programs. I am thinking bout getting a 2600 counsel sumday lol when i get the money. IDK Atari basic would be kool to learn.

Atari Very similar to QB with little bits of TI basic thrown in. Its very simplistic and accepts both full QB and TI languages. I dont know if it was based on these languages or if the languages are based on it. But if I did it in elementry school it cant be that hard.

Now maybe I can move onto Visual Basic.

As a child of DOS and Windows 3.1, I've had an interest in programming from an early age, and my first programming language (which I learned when I was in 5th grade) was QBASIC. Because of some of it's limited capabilities, I also use VB, but I still love it. (I'm also learning perl and C++, but those are work-related. I use QB for writing simple, time-wasting games.)

So you still use QB?

I grew up with Windows 95 plus. But I have a very weird interest in DOS and QB programing. I thing that windows 3.11 is the best but ME is pretty good too.

So what exactly do you do with QB?
