Lavasoft Ad-aware Authenticity Check
Add-on for Ad-aware SE
Version: BETA 2
Released: Apr 21 2006

QUOTE
A vulnerability was recently discovered that could be used to compromise the definition file used with all versions of Ad-Aware SE.

Once alerted to this risk, our development team together with our research team immediately assessed the threat and produced a solution (currently in BETA) that will ensure the integrity and authenticity of the installed definition file and thus negate any potential risk from this form of attack as long as the user has installed the Ad-Aware Authenticity Check software.

A note of caution. This is a BETA version released for public testing. Unless you are experienced in testing, do not install this, but await a Lavasoft upgrade.
See Lavasoft's terms and conditions for using the Beta release:

I would ensure that definitions were up-to-date before running this tool also.

I had no problems using this Beta on Windows XP Home.
