Hi all,
I recall being able to add the "find and replace" option to OE a while back. I think it was linked somehow to Microsoft Word or Notepad which has this option. I would like to remove (<<) from forwarded emails directly in OE rather than having to cut and paste to notepad and remove the (<<). I know my old imac's OE had an option to "clean up text" or simular which removed all the quotes. I don't see this in todays OE for XP though.

I do recall there being a tweak that added this function though. thumbup.gif
Thanks in advance,

I've never noticed that option, in OE.
Just a suggestion, but I find StripMail to be faster, than using Word.

QUOTE
StripMail is a FREEWARE utility that:

* Strips the characters ">" and "|" from forwarded e-mails.
* Formats the text into paragraphs, making it easier to read.
* Changes the text's right margin, by indenting.
* Can be used with any e-mail client.

Thankyou, I'll try it. Though I do recall that particular tweak. Perhaps it was an older version.

You're welcome, monker.

To prevent carets << in forwarded and reply emails do the following in Outlook Express in windows XP

1. Click the Tools menu, Options
2. Click the Send tab
3. You'll see an area called "Mail sending format". Under that category,
click the Plain Text Settings Button
4. Deselect the checkbox for indenting original text on reply
