hello everybody,

i wandered into this forum when doing a google search for lssass.exe...
mostly just looking for just how many other people were having problems
with this particular bug.

i troubleshoot PCs and Macs for the University of the South

Sewanee - the University of the South

usually im pretty good at fixing problems on my own or doing
google searches to see if anybody else has encountered the same
thing and posted a possible fix for it...

of course, there is the occasional problem that makes me feel ... scratchhead.gif

and that's where you guys come in... hopefully you all can help me with
these problems and i'll help around here as well.

thanks for your time,

i need to say this:
6 years ago, the major problem was failing equipment and dirty keyboards/mice

3 years ago, the major problem was viruses

2 years ago we were getting hacked and ftp servers installed; serving out forien
subtitled movies, as well as warez... (THIS was hard to get rid of!)

from the last year to the present AdWare and SpyWare has become the new
evil that plagues my life. i believe that it is worse than all the viruses and
hacks and failing hardware combined.

we have adopted firefox as our browser
spybot is on (most) machines
i constantly use cwshredder, fixlsp, adaware, norton systemworks (windoctor)
and certian steps that i can do myself to rid the machine of adware...

thanks,

rexifelis,
You might want to add:
aČ free - a complementary product to antivirus software which is specialized in protection against harmful software. Antivirus software often features an inadequate protection against Trojans, Dialers and Spyware. aČ fills this gap.
SpywareBlaster - A good program that prevents spyware from being installed on your computer in the first place. This program is always running in the background, protecting your computer. It prevents the installation of bad active X controls found in web pages.
