Toshiba Satellite XP Home system freezes and/or shutsdown "to protect itself" after I attempted to uninstall Norton AntiVirus 2003/Norton System Works Pro 2003 so that I could install Zone Alarm AV/Pro. Anyone here ever attempt to uninstall Symantec? If the add/remove doesn't work and you go to their site you find an incredible procedure to do this.
1st I thought NAV was uninstalled and I installed Zone Alarm w/AV and this was the beginning. Had to uninstall Zone Alarm to get system just to boot past safe mode, then found NAV was still "everywhere." Attempting to reinstall NAV probably made it worse.
Any help out there?
