Hi All,

Fresh install of Windows XP with IE page loading problems.

When typing in a web address (for example) "www.cnn.com" the page loads after about a minute or so. If I type in "http://www.cnn.com" the page loads instantly.

Cache is cleared, network settings correct, reset web settings, hosts file clean.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

LAN settings in IE are set to auto detect.

I even tried a winsock fix ... no help.

Problem solved!

Here is the Microsoft info on the problem http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918165 and a possible fix.

Problem was caused by a conflict between an XP update and HP Share-to-web software.
