Thank you, QuietMan. Interesting that you chose France as an example. France is already inundated with Muslims who are setting fire to neighborhoods, cars and so on. Islam includes the teachings of Muhammed who taught his people how to destroy other cultures.

Fifteen years ago, GTE Data Services had an electronic facial recognition program. The new $20billion system Congress bought requires a card to be inserted in a card reader. Reminds me of the old punch card days and taking them to the window to have your program read.

I do not feel America is really trying to win the war, nor provide security in America. Screaming at the TV is doing me no good. I have been writing and calling Congress for over a year now. When we scan this post, most of us think America should retain her sovereignty according to the law of the land. How can we have so many lawbreakers in our Government?

What can we do? Take up arms? I've seen that suggested in a few blogs... It scares me that the will of Americans has to return to the days of the Boston Tea Party. Too many people vote in ignorance: they vote in blocks, or by name recognition. Now, of course, we have this electronic voting system that could so easily be manipulated. The developers tested their own product!!!! Politicians do not understand about business or information systems.

I have one suggestion: Americans: PLEASE logon to NumbersUSA.com Follow their information on how to contact your representatives (Senators this week) and tell them we want our sovereignty! If you don't care, then take a nap on Tuesday... and learn Spanish... and get a TB test. Oh, and don't forget your canned food and water for when some Jihaddist that lives next door blows up your city. ARM yourselves, people, with information and action!!! And if you don't already know how, go to the pistol range. The barbarians are at the gate. BE the FORCE! icon_luke.gif

"The Senate Continues to Bypass We-The-People

On Monday the Senate bypassed the people and forced an Amnesty First bill to the floor. A select group of Senators will hold daily meetings starting Tuesday to determine whether proposed revisions would sink what they are calling their "grand bargain."

Minuteman Civil Defense Corps (MCDC) Vice President, Carmen Mercer, and Tony Dolz from CA are being joined by MCDC volunteers on Capitol Hill all week during this CRITICAL TIME of DEBATE telling Senators to Secure the Border First say NO to AMNESTY and NEVER to SPP.

The bill is being criticized from every direction including the Minutemen, U.S. Border Patrol, Labor Unions, Hispanic Groups, Presidential Candidates and even many politicians.

Heritage Foundation scholar Robert Rector estimates the bill's price tag at a potential $2.5 Trillion with a Capitol Hill "T"

Rector states that “Granting amnesty or conditional amnesty to illegal immigrants would increase their use of welfare, Social Security and Medicare. Fiscal costs would go up significantly in the short term but would go up dramatically after the amnesty recipient reached retirement. If all the current adult illegal aliens in the U.S. were granted amnesty the net retirement costs to government could be over $2.5 trillion.”

The bill is not even completely written and now the Senate feeling the heat puts off final action on the deal until June trying to stop any opposition from making changes to the incomplete legislation.

Millions of Americans are demanding real border security, while our President, Chertoff and the U.S. Commerce Secretary join with open border lobbyists and liberal Senators to cut deals in a smoke-filled back room and give BLANKET AMNESTY to 12 million illegal alien intruders!

Kennedy says President Bush will sign the bill. While McCain keeps hiding his open borders mania from the GOP rank-and-file on the White House campaign trail, he’s behind Ted Kennedy all the way on the illegal alien AMNESTY SELL-OUT. Add Arlen Specter as a RINO leader helping Dems and President Bush push forward an “immigration overhaul” that would grant IMMEDIATE legal status or AMNESTY to virtually all 12 million illegal aliens confirmed to be already in the U.S.—plus countless more to come through on this new welcome mat—and border security is an empty promise!

The battle is on in the Senate!

“Secure the Border First” is the issue. Do not let this important national security debate in Washington become instead an “AMNESTY-FEST” with the security of our nation hi-jacked by alien gangs and derailed with Z-cards. The Amnesty-Bill reportedly calls for security measures to be promised, enacted and evaluated over the next 18 months, and 350 miles of border fence and cameras to be authorized. Similar promises have been made before, but never followed through on with real enactment. ENFORCEMENT FIRST! NO AMNESTY FOR LAWBREAKERS! DO NOT HAND OUT ID CARDS to illegals until the border is secured!

Senators Cornyn and De Mint walk away from the sell-out!

Well, at least SOME folks have a good head on their shoulders! It looks like Sen. John Cornyn doesn’t want anything to do with the President’s deal to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens, and neither does Sen. Jim DeMint.

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC): "This rewards people who broke the law with permanent legal status, and puts them ahead of millions of law-abiding immigrants waiting to come to America" (mult., 5/17).
And on the U.S. House side:

Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-WI): "I think the bill stinks" ("Evening News," CBS, 5/17).
Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO): "Here's the bottom line ... that, if you are in this country illegally today, this moment, you will be able to stay under this bill" ("PZN," CNN, 5/17).
Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA), asked if the new immigration bill will stop illegal immigration: "I don't think it will, because the bill cuts my fence in half. ... You have to put that fence in place." ("Hardball," MSNBC, 5/17).

Take action NOW and keep the pressure on!

Senator Lindsay Graham of South Carolina has said it most bluntly, “We’re gonna tell the BIGOTS to SHUT UP”! If you believe in border security first, HE MEANS YOU!

DO NOT BE SILENCED BY ANYONE –
STAND UP! MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!

Take Action NOW

Call your Senators today, toll free numbers include 1-877-851-6437 and 1-866-220-0044, or call toll 1-202-225-3121,

PLEASE CALL PRESIDENT BUSH, 202-456-1111 and 202-456-1414 expressing your disdain and ABSOLUTE REJECTION of amnesty and special citizenship provisions for illegal aliens, and to emphasize the need for greater border security NOW, border security FIRST.

Send a FREE Email message to your Congressman and Senators, demanding they secure our borders, enforce our laws and STOP amnesty. Go to
http://capwiz.com/sicminc/dbq/officials

It is time to rally the troops from coast to coast. We have held up the "Amnesty-Bill" so far, but only with our continued combined efforts will we be able to hold this line against the special interests of the open border groups. We MUST demand that the Senate Secure the Border NOW and say NO to any amnesty program for illegal aliens – before it's too late!

DO NOT BE SILENCED – MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!

NOTE: We need TENS OF THOUSANDS of faxes and PHONE CALLS and EMAILS delivered to ALL Senators right away!

YOU can make a REAL DIFFERENCE. The politicians will talk; the liberal media and the “Hate America” crowd will offer AMNESTY to law breakers. The Minutemen will ACT in defense of America! Help us to HALT AMNESTY and SECURE AMERICA’S BORDERS NOW!

For the Security of America,

Chris Simcox, President
Minuteman Civil Defense Corps"

I understand how strongly many people here are against the amnesty of the current illegal aliens that are currently in our country... but how are we ever going to find them all? And in of that, how can they estimate the number of illegals? Do they send out a census saying "IF you are an illegal please return this, but we won't come after you..."

Also, if we don't give them amnesty how are we going to find them all and either make them go through the correct procedure, let alone kick them out.

We would be the decent action to remove them?

Also for the comment of "the illegals take American's hard-working jobs" ... who was working these jobs before hand? Either nobody, or an American who either quit or no one even applied for it.

I feel like this topic is like abortion, you are either on the left or the right side of the fence or you are on the fence getting ready to jump sides... (sorry for the bad pun tongue.gif )

No one has to search out illegal aliens for deportation. The government just needs to do its job. Enforce the laws on employers who are providing the jobs and stop providing social service assistance. When the illegals cannot find work, they will have no choice but to return home on their own.
joygreen
Yano, what the illegals are doing is working for less money than Americans. So the greedy companies hire the illegals to raise their own profit levels. One State recently passed a law against hiring illegals.(sorry, I do not document everything I read but I sure do remember) They fired 40 people who probably went home. The next day, there was a line around the block, of Americans applying to fill these jobs. No one is suggesting we round them up and kick them out. But we can make quick work of stopping the flow into the Country by 1. Upholding our own laws: the first border crossing is a misdemeanor, and the second crossing is a felony. Yet American law enforcement is not allowed to uphold these laws. Every year, one million (est.) illegals are caught and released. 2. Stop the lottery immediately where ANYONE could get in. 3. STOP Chain Migration, where illegals can bring their families and their second-cousin twice removed into the country. 4. Fine companies that hire illegals. This can easily be reported by the citizens who hire a small company to do work, and see a slew of Mexicans arrive. For example: I needed a new roof. All the estimates were $6,000. I hired the young man who said it was a family business. He was an American. The next day, my yard was full of spanish-speaking Mexicans. So I didn't save the money: the young man who sold me the contract lied and made a huge profit. Because I live alone, I allowed the work to continue. The people were respectful, but that is not the issue here. America's Sovereignty and corporate greed are the issues. 5. Rescind all laws to provide bi-lingual services including welfare and Social Security. Every immigrant who entered this Country prior to the Mexicans made quick work of learning English and taking the Oath of Allegience in English. 6. IMO, every legislator who refers to an illegal immigrant as an "undocumented immigrant" should be fired immediately, since they refuse to honor their oaths of office: to protect and defend the Constitution of this former "Land of Laws". 7. America should NEVER prosecute its own Border Patrol Agents or Warriors. The Constitution states that invasion is a reason for War. In War, people get killed. We have 2 Border Patrol Agents and 12 Marines in jail for "murder" on the battlefield. This is insane. The President has failed to do his job by declaring the Mexican border a war zone, especially since the Mexican Army did its armed practice attack in Arizona in January 2007. John McCain didn't say or do anything about it until he threw his hat into the ring for president. Booo McCain.

Remember, nobody in Mexico is starving. They have oilfields. They grow crops. They have beaches. Why should they be able to take America for themselves, after Americans spent their blood, sweat and tears building the greatest Country in the World. Until now: we have a corrupt government that is not exercising its authority and responsibility to police itself among the three branches. Congress was too lazy to work, so they gave the President their power to prosecute the war in Iraq.

Americans MUST make our opinions known to the government, and our scientists invent alternative fuel and machines so that we do not give the enemy money to turn around and shoot or nuke us with.

Does that help you understand the effort and true intentions of Americans who only want our Constitutional Sovereignty?

Thank you,
joygreen

You can make a very effective phone call by simply stating your name, where you are calling from and one or two brief talking points.
Capitol Switchboard: 202-224-3121

IF YOU OPPOSE AMNESTY: Please include this comment:

Vote NO on cloture on Rule 14 on S. 1348, and vote no on cloture on any bill that rewards illegal aliens with legal residence or jobs
  • The American Legion has rejected the "comprehensive" proposals that would reward illegal aliens in favor of the ATTRITION THROUGH ENFORCEMENT solution.
  • This year's "comprehensive" immigration proposals, like last year's, would give amnesty not just to illegal aliens, but to the business that hire them. We will never have a chance at reducing illegal immigration so long as we continue to let unscrupulous employers off the hook!
  • Illegal immigration is not a victimless crime. The poor, minorities, children and individuals with little education are particularly vulnerable. It causes an enormous drain on public services, depresses wages of American workers, contributes to population growth that, in turn, contributes to school overcrowding and housing shortages. Directly and indirectly, U.S. taxpayers are paying for illegal immigration.
  • More Americans are killed every year by illegal aliens than have been killed in Iraq. Illegal aliens do not need in-state tuition; they need to go home.

Immigration Bill Provisions Gain Wide Support in Poll
QUOTE
...there is broad support among Americans — Democrats, Republicans and independents alike — for the major provisions in the legislation, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll...a large majority of Americans want to change the immigration laws to allow illegal immigrants to gain legal status and to create a new guest worker program...

NY Times/CBS Poll Finds that 69% Believe Illegal Immigrants Should Be Prosecuted
QUOTE
...69% of American adults believe illegal immigrants should “be prosecuted and deported for being in the U.S. illegally.”...

What if, instead of giving them amnesty, we gave them an ultimatum?

If our government said "We will give any illegal immigrant 2 years to come to us to fill out the proper paperwork to stay here, or we will deport you with all the legal power possible?" And then add all the restrictions to employers, etc...

Wouldn't drawing up a timeline be like admitting defeat?!

I believe you'll find that the proposed bill does just that, although with a different time restriction. It also supports shoring up of our borders, although not as strongly as I'd like.

Well, not exactly.

Since we - the Federal, State, and local governments, law enforcement entities, and various businesses - contributed to and supported this illegal activity, we would be "defeating" ourselves which would make us the victors!

Quietman, what are you saying? That the different polls can come up with different numbers? That's correct: If you put out a poll that says "Should all illegal aliens be shot on sight" or "let them stay in America", that might be a biased poll question. I've seen quite a few of them... politicians are the best at making up questions that cannot be answered according to your own opinion.

Anybody who thinks Americans WANT these parasites taking over our Country need only read this post, and watch some FOX news. Last night, a guy was on Hannity and Colmes speaking about another impending American revolution. If the government will not do the will of the people, its time to outst them all! I would just hope we wouldn't have to take up arms, but too many Americans have time on their hands because their jobs have been given away to H1-B visa holders, outsourced to cheap overseas labor markets (like China who is now pointing missiles toward us) or given to some hispanic because of all the laws requiring spanish translations be made available.

Yo quiero Glock!!

Not at all. Depending on where one goes for their source of news, they will get a different slant. The NYT (the paper of record) has an agenda and the headline/story they choose to run with certainly proves which side they are on. The majority of other media outlets in this country get much of their news from the NYT so this kind of bogus info is feed to U.S. citizens from coast to coast.

Get ready to open your wallets a lot wider. Most of the illegal immigrants are low-income workers who will qualify for the EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) once they become citizens after the Amnesty Bill.

And if Hillary Clinton has her way, she will ensure they get as much as possible. Yesterday at the Manchester School of Technology, Clinton said she would help people save more money by expanding and simplifying the earned income tax credit.

Would that it were true, for Americans!!! Now they're going to blame Americans for TB, when for sure it comes from aliens.

Interesting that all the politicians are starting to quote Lincoln. HE revered the middle class, said without it the country would be weak.

Last night on Hannity and Colmes a man spoke of picking up arms because of this invasion. I just can't get what the politicians are getting out of it??? I've asked: I'll let you know if I get a response hysterical.gif

Would anybody like to post their view of NumbersUSA.com? It's probably the strongest PAC going. Us complaining here isn't getting us anywhere (unless we are all going to gun shows this weekend). When I write to my politicians, I state it this way: " I've seen quite a few blogs refer to a second revolution, and taking up arms against this invasion. " Then I ask them if they at least took over the oil wells so we can bring our Warriors home.

PS: Happy Birthday SeafoX!!!

PPS: I have NEVER met anyone in person who agrees with this invasion. The Senate is not upholding the Constitution. Any lawyers in here? Maybe we can sue the Senate. I know Denny Crane would take the case smile.gif

QUOTE
1. Security doesn’t come first in this bill. This bill would immediately legalize illegal aliens that are currently in the country. The only way Congress will actually see to it that the border security and enforcement provisions in the bill will be implemented is if they have to do them before they even consider an amnesty for the people who are here.

2. Illegal aliens won’t have to pay back taxes — where do we get the same deal? The whole idea that illegal aliens shouldn’t have to pay the taxes they already owe for working in the United States is utterly and completely offensive because it actually gives them a privilege that American citizens aren’t getting: forgiveness for taxes owed to the IRS.

3. If passed, this bill will make taxpayers pay the legal bills for illegal aliens seeking amnesty. Tucked away on page 317 is a provision that would allow lawyers in the federally-funded legal services program to represent illegal aliens, which they are presently barred from doing.

4. This bill rewards illegal aliens for breaking our laws. There are tens of millions of people who respect our laws and our country, waiting patiently, in line, often in their home countries, to get a chance to come here. Under this bill, illegal aliens will immediately be eligible for a “Z Visa” which allows them to work, go to school, and — this is important — stay here for the rest of their lives if they so choose because there is no limit on the number of times it can be renewed.

5. The bill gives the government only one business day to conduct a background check to determine whether an applicant is a criminal or a terrorist. It is impossible, of course, to determine in a single day whether someone is a terrorist or a criminal.

6. In the bill Section 601(g)(2), illegal-alien gang members would be eligible for amnesty merely by signing a “renunciation of gang affiliation.”

7. Gang-bangers and other criminals, who have been ordered to leave the United States by an immigration judge but defy the ruling, are called absconders. Section 601(d)(1)(I) permits U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to grant an absconder a Z visa anyway if he can show that being forced to leave the United States “would result in extreme hardship” to the alien, his spouse, parent or child.

8. The bill effectively shuts down our immigration-court system. If an alien in the removal process is eligible for the Z visa, the immigration judge must close the proceedings and offer the alien the chance to apply for the amnesty.

9. If ICE officials apprehend an alien who appears eligible for the Z visa (in other words, just about any illegal alien), they can’t detain him. Instead, ICE must help him apply for the Z visa.

Rather than initiating removal proceedings, ICE will be initiating amnesty applications. It’s like turning the Drug Enforcement Agency into a needle-distribution network.

10. To qualify for the Z-visa amnesty, an illegal alien need only have a job (or be the parent, spouse, or child of someone with a job) and come up with a scrap of paper suggesting he was in the country before Jan. 1 of this year. Any bank statement, pay stub, or similarly forgeable record will do.

Expect a mass influx unlike anything this country has seen before, once the 12-month period for accepting Z visa applications begins. These rules are an open invitation to sneak in and present a fraudulent piece of paper indicating that you were already here.

11. As promised, the bill will legalize most of the 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens now in the country via a new “Z visa.” Each would pay $3,000 - only slightly more than the going rate to be smuggled into America. This is not up front. They will have eight years to pay it back.

12. Supporters of the bill call the Z visa “temporary” - neglecting to mention that it can be renewed indefinitely until the visa holder dies. Thus, we have the country’s first permanent temporary visa. On top of that, it’s a super-visa - allowing the holder to work, attend college or do just about anything else.

Are you a law-abiding alien who’s interested in switching to this privileged status? Sorry. Only illegal aliens can qualify.

13. The bill increases legal migration by at least 50 percent over the next decade by granting green cards to all the remote relatives who are in the chain migration categories, a number estimated at 750,000 to 900,000 a year. That is triple the current number of 250,000. Giving green cards to millions of additional relatives ensures that legal immigration will continue to grow as this larger pool of permanent residents brings in spouses.

14. The bill claims that bench marks must be met before amnesty/guest-worker provisions go into effect. But the bench marks fail to require that the U.S.-Mexico border be closed, fail to require that the border fence be completed as mandated by Congress in October and fail to require that the Department of Homeland Security implement the entry-exit visa system so Americans can know if visitors and guest workers actually leave.

The border security part of the bill calls for a 370-mile-long fence on the U.S./Mexico border. That is only half as long as the 700-mile-long fence ordered by the Secure Fence Act passed overwhelmingly by Congress and ostentatiously signed by the president in front of TV cameras just before the November 2006 election.

15. Another bench mark is that “tools” will be provided to prevent illegal immigrants from getting jobs, including requirements for identification standards and an employee verification system. But the bill lacks a requirement that anybody actually use the tools.

16. The costs of the Senate immigration bill are mind-boggling. Unbelievably, the Senate has made no attempt to estimate this costs or how to how to pay them. The Heritage Foundation’s Robert Rector puts a potential price tag on this bill of $2.5 trillion, which is five times the cost of the Iraq war.

17. At least 60 percent of illegal immigrants lack a high school diploma, which means they will work low-wage jobs, pay little or no income tax, and be heavy users of our schools and means-tested social benefits such as Medicaid, school lunches, Women, Infants and Children Program, subsidized housing, the Earned Income Tax Credit, and free legal counsel.

18. Fiscal costs would go up dramatically after amnesty recipients reach retirement. Each elderly low-skill immigrant imposes a net cost - that is benefits minus taxes - on U.S. taxpayers of about $17,000 per year, according to the Heritage Foundation. These costs would hit Social Security and Medicare at the very time Social Security is expected to go into crisis.

19. Section 413 calls on Congress to “accelerate the implementation” of the Security and Prosperity Partnership - announced by Bush in Waco, Texas, in 2005 - so that the United States can “improve the standard of living in Mexico.” Do U.S. taxpayers want to take on the awesome economic burden of solving poverty problems in Mexico?

20. The Senate immigration bill states that the United States want to increase access to credit for “poor and under-served populations in Mexico,” and expand efforts “to reduce the transaction costs of remittance flows” from the U.S. to Mexico now running at $23 billion a year. That is money made in the US but transferred out of our economy.

21. The Senate bill also puts the United States into a “partnership” with Mexico for “increasing health care access for poor and under-served populations in Mexico,” for “assisting Mexico in increasing its emergency and trauma health care facilities,” and for “expanding prenatal care” in the border region. Do U.S. taxpayers want to take on the awesome economic burden of solving problems in Mexico?

22. The Senate bill authorizes 4,000 new Border Patrol agents, but doesn’t require that they be trained or deployed.

23. Last but not least. Illegal Aliens will receive instate tuition. Illegal aliens would receive a taxpayer subsidy worth tens of thousands of dollars and would be treated better than U.S. citizens from out of state, who must pay three to four times as much to attend college. In an era of limited educational resources and rising tuitions, U.S. citizens, not aliens openly violating federal law, should be first in line to receive education subsidies.

24.Health standards ignored – Z-Visa holders are not required to be given medical examinations and immunizations. Z-Visa applicants and permenant residents are two peas off the same pod. Both can live in the USA as long as they want. Permenant residents are required to be given a medical examination and immunized but Z-Visa holders are not. All aliens, including Z-Visa holders should be required to be given medical examinations and immunized. They are living and breathing in our country just as permanent residents. The health and safety issues are one and the same. TB or Leprosy anyone? SWEET!

25.“There are no serious assimilation components to the legislation.” Dual citizenship, naturalized Americans voting here and overseas, non-English classrooms and multilingual ballots all thrive, despite McCain-Kennedy’s “comprehensive” scope. “Assimilation” appears only once in this legislation, and not until the 343rd of 347 pages. “Americanization” never emerges. SWEET!

26. The amnestee doesn’t have to know squat in English to get probationary status or a Z visa. After four years when seeking to renew the Z visa the first time, he only has to take — not pass, just take — the naturalization language test or be on a waiting list for English classes. “Learn English” only happens after eight years, and then it’s not actual mastery of the language. SWEET!

26 points to ponder from the Immigration Watchdog Newsletter. Here's another.

Some Congressman like Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J. and many in the House, oppose the new immigration bill because they believe it is too harsh on illegal immigrants.

I got a parking ticket in my own apartment complex for parking "near" a fire-lane....in my own apartment complex. Meanwhile, my illegal alien neighbors run a carpet-cleaning business in an unregistered van from their apartment garage (which is why there is normally no place to park.)

Thank God we're moving in a month! (Just a little example.)

A note: I just had their company looked up for the heck of it, and they do not have a business license either. smile.gif

The New York Times editorial page doesn't like it...because the path to citizenship "is strewn with cruel conditions, including a fine -- $5,000 -- that's too steep and hurdles that are needlessly high."

That's the general idea. That number in kind will likely decimate one major political party, leaving the other to dominate and formulate all domestic/foreign policy.

Did anybody see how they are tormenting that American who flew to Europe to get married? And now the CDC is saying s/he might have given TB to the people on the airplanes? That CDC #itch on CNN said only one sentence that s/he was not likely to be contagious. Anybody with the disease (not just the exposure/infection that makes a "positive" TB test) would be far too sick to be flying around like that. TB started coming back to the US in the mid/late 1980's with the illegals, after it had been eradicated here in the late '50's.
blueandgold04
joygreen, did you hear that the man with the potent TB has a father-in-law who works at the CDC.... with different strains of TB? Coincidence, I think not!!

Either we have security issues at the CDC, or that father really didn't want this dude as a son-in-law! blink.gif

Whichever way you cut it, this is not a good thing.

Caution:!!! I have never seen a toll free telephone number to the Senate or Congress. I used one of these numbers provided by "an open borders lobbying group" today. All it did was ask for my senator's name, put me on hold for a couple of moments (probably to get my phone number and who knows, access my PC? b/c of the router?), and hang up. I think these numbers are some kind of "hack" to make the Senators think all these people are calling to support Amnesty. Scarlett, I do not think you intended that, did you? Maybe I did not read it carefully enough.

So please, use your own dime, and call Washington directly at 202-224-3121: this is the Capitol, they will forward you to your Senator, and you can talk to an Aide. I just spoke to the switchboard operator, and reported this political fraud. She asked for my state, and sent me to Mel Martinez, the Cuban immigrant who swore to uphold the Constitution. It is after hours, but his mailbox is full (as usual). Isn't it treason to allow the Country to be invaded? Martinez was one of the ringleaders of this trick-named bill: "immigration reform". Yeah, to reform the fact that we have borders and Constitutional Sovereignty.

Grrrrrrrr! But I sure do like the idea of getting rid of this entire administration. I've never seen such corruption and treason! You can also write to Congress through .

Open your wallets again...Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation estimates that the net cost of amnesty over the next four decades will be approximately $2.5 trillion.

QUOTE
...Roughly 9 million adult illegal immigrants will be given amnesty under the bill; 7 to 8 million of them will live to retirement age. When this occurs, 30 to 35 years from now, they will receive from the taxpayer an average of $17,000 a year in benefits above and beyond the taxes they pay. When amnesty recipients retire, the situation becomes much worse for the taxpayer: these people will pay approximately $5,000 a year in taxes and receive approximately $37,000 in benefits. The total net cost of the amnesty over the next three to four decades will be approximately $2.5 trillion, estimates...And the worst thing about this is that the fiscal cost is going to come smashing into the Social Security and Medicare systems at the very time they are already going bankrupt...

Heritage Foundation and NumbersUSA.com are great sources for accurate data on this invasion. Nobody is starving in Mexico and they have oil! Even Congress admitted it was too lazy to read the bill to give Bush authority to invade Iraq. Now Iraq is getting a border from Syria, but America is about to give up our Sovereignty. This is unconstitutional, and the three branches of government are failing to police themselves.

I have started writing to my Governor: if the Feds won't do their jobs, it's up to the states. I hope this intelligent crowd will start making their objections known. The senators and congresspeople running for president have over a year to straighten out this mess. None of them deserves a vote if they cannot secure America from this invasion RIGHT NOW! Why should we have to wait?

Good post, Quietman. Tancredo, running for prez, says it will cost $3.5 trillion. Either way, it bankrupts America. What can we really DO about this? Has anyone started writing letters or making phone calls to their representatives?

I have: to Gov. Crist, mel martinez the traitor from cuba, Bill Nelson, the prez, and two Kentucky Senators who were sitting on the fence. I got that info from one of my watchdog mailing lists. It's time to icon_luke.gif medieval.gif

Some states are trying but the left leaning courts are stopping their efforts, ruling that only the federal gov't has authority in regards to immigration. Using that rationale, the courts should also put a stop to states enforcing drug laws?

Yes it was a typo and I just corrected it. Thanks.

Rush Limbaugh made a prediction of what would be said if the bill flopped, and he was exactly right about Dingy Harry Reid.
MaraM
I am just wondering something.

Since 'blanket' full amnesty would indeed seem an odd reward to those who enter countries illegally - and tracking down and deporting would seem both daunting and unbelievably expenses, I wonder if a 'middle course' might be taken.

Stop all further illegal entries and let it be truly known that there will be no questions asked, back they go the moment they are caught.

And starting immediately, perhaps the Government could put 'teeth' in it's fair warning to ALL businesses and people across the land - hire an illegal person and pay massive, massive fines. Period. Second offense, business closed due to illegal activity. Harsh, I know, but I suspect many businesses don't hire these people out of the goodness of their heart, rather the filling of their own pocketbooks.

Give a one year 'amnesty' with the provision that anyone who wishes to remain living in the States MUST apply during that 12 month time period and must show that he or she has been gainfully employed and paying income tax. And in the case of families (as in parent/parents, their children and grandparents), at least one person in the family unit must been gainfully employed and paying income tax.

Surely all those that have entered, although illegal, but through the years have built up a life as a true American by being self-supporting, active in their communities and contributing to the country as a whole by paying taxes, etc. would be a true assent to any country?

And for those not registered at the end of that 12 month period, poof, the hunt truly begins and deportation starts.

This 12 month 'we are being firm' would cost administration money but also would help unemployment as more people would be needed to implement something like this - but surely a huge amount less than offering 'full and open amnesty' to everyone and anyone, including those that leech off every other citizen paying taxes in the USA?

I do apologise if I'm out of line here, after all, I'm not even American. But you are our direct neighbours and I'm proud of it.

joygreen
I heard it blamed on "NumbersUSA and other grassroots organizations". Truly, (I won't "swear"), I heard it on FOX news, I think Hannity and Colmes. Never underestimate the value of starting a rumor. "Taking up Arms", although I did see it mentioned on other blogs, I passed it on to all the faxes I sent to legislators as "something I've seen on blogs throughout the internet" which is actually true.

Let's rejoice in our victory! I cannot believe they think this is so complicated. All they have to do is enforce the laws. A law was passed to build approx 200 miles of fence, but only two miles have been completed. Stop chain migration! English only! No Matricula Consular Cards! No free educations for illegals! Easy as pie!

Maybe we should just invade Mexico for their oil! hysterical.gif thumbup.gif clapping.gif

Mara, I just saw your post, we MUST stick to "NO AMNESTY". The first time anyone crosses our borders illegally (or overstays a visa, etc) is a misdemeanor. The second time is a felony. Why can't mexicans build their own lives in mexico? Oh, that's right, no free american welfare there. Statistics say no matter how many taxes they pay, each illegal alien household (mostly non-high-school graduates) costs the American taxpayer $22,000. This info comes from the Heritage Foundation.

Nobody is talking about rounding them up and kicking them out. We can do a very peaceful attrition by just enforcing our laws and stopping the insane ones that are unconstitutional (e.g. the lottery where anyone can come in). And now that these people know the gov't won't enforce laws against them, you should see the change in their attitudes!!! They are not so friendly anymore. And hospitals are having to close down because the illegals are bankrupting them. Now who does that hurt? Again, the American people who have paid taxes and built this country and defended it with their lives. Our own retired Military, the American Legion, is completely against this Amnesty. I think we should pay attention to those who have given their lives to make America a secure and peaceful place. And remember, nobody is starving in Mexico: this is not a question of Charity: it's a question of stealing American Sovereignty.

This statement the other day leaves a lot to consider.
CODE
Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader, declared:
"This week we will vote on closure and final passage of a comprehensive bill that will strengthen border security, bring the 12 million undocumented Americans out of the shadows, and keep our economy strong."

What does he mean by "undocumented Americans?" Anyone committing the criminal act of sneaking across the border is instantly American somehow. Go to the head of the line,do not pass any security or health checks. Let the others doing it the right (or is it wrong way) wait longer. Doesn'the even care if they're real purpose is to blow up the Senate buildingwhere he works? I feel that statement borders on delusional. But then again I suppose anyone can cross that border too.

Don't get too comfortable there, cowboys and gals!

From NumbersUSA:
"Senate Will Take Up Amnesty/Guestworker Bill Again
On June 14, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced that S. 1348, the amnesty/guestworker bill, will be debated again on the Senate floor after Members finish work on the energy bill, which could be as early as June 21."

"More news media polls are being released purporting to show that the majority of the public supports this Senate amnesty bill. The fact is that nearly all the MSM (media) polls fail to offer people the choice of Attrition Through Enforcement.
When Americans are offered a choice between legalization, attrition or mass deportations, most Americans choose attrition."

As you can see just from how many pages this thread is popular (34 pages at the time of writing). One problem that I think needs to be addressed is the fact that anyone can cross the boarder, sure a few people get caught, but what if we have terrorists enter our country through mexico.... Ladies and Gents our back door is open and the world is comming in, it's time we close the door, and put a doggie door to let the ones in our country here illegally out.
joygreen
Hiya Boopme,

Thanks for the explaination on who is Harry Reid. I think the senate leaders are elected by their peers. And because the Republicans screwed up so badly over the past few years, (you can hardly tell the difference between the two parties) THAT"s why the dems are in majority right now. I did see, however, that 12 Dem senators voted against that stupid amnesty bill. But watch out, I am seeing warnings that it's coming back with a bunch of "if you do this for me I'll do that for you". And of course, we will not get this invasion stopped, nor will we get the immigration laws enforced. Did anybody see Bill O'Reilly's one page Immigration Reform bill? It took one page. I liked it. (He seems to be in a bit of a panic lately, anyone notice?)

USSR, I like your idea about the doggy door. But what doggy is going to walk away from free steaks? I think these doggies are going to have to get the boot! Along with most of congreess and senate (those vote whores)... I keep telling them that if they continue to bankrupt the Country, they they won't get their lifetime pensions and free medical care either: and they'll be down in the muck with the rest of us!

I just got an e-mail from the Border Patrol, they want people to sign up to blast faxes the way NumbersUSA does. Not sure why they would want to compete, Numbers has been doing an excellent job. But they did verify that those 800 numbers are from mexican lobbyists, but they still do not understand that just calling the number gives you a vote FOR amnesty. I'd advise staying away from them and sticking with Numbers. But they did give us some good info:

1. Remind them that 3 of the 6 terrorists who planned to blow up Fort Dix (the Fort Dix Six) came across the Mexican border.

2. The Heritage Foundation estimates the bill would increase federal spending by $50 billion annually. That does not include the estimated cost of $100 billion annually for anchor babies.

3. The bill forgives felonies of illegal aliens who have stolen Social Security card numbers and identities of U.S. citizens and allows past illegal work to qualify for Social Security benefits.

4. The parents of temporary workers who have never paid into Social Security would be eligible for Supplemental Security Income benefits. It allows them to gain Medicaid benefits after five years. This is a sure fire way to send our Social Security system into quicker bankruptcy.

5. This bill represents a massive tax burden on U.S. citizens to pay for food stamps, K-12 education for millions of illegal alien children, SSI payments for millions of foreigners who broke all our rules breaking into our country, subsidized school lunches, rent subsidies, Medicaid, unemployment compensation and other medical care for out-of-wedlock births.

6. This bill continues chain migration of extended families. That means that every illegal alien can bring in his entire family. Once that happens, each member of that branch can bring in their family members. It’s a pyramid scheme whereby they can bring in an unlimited number of relatives. It never ends. It’s going on right now with legal immigrants, which is why we’ll add 100 million people, at the minimum, by 2040.

7. This bill doesn't stop illegal migration! It forgives employers of past lawbreaking and sets up systems whereby illegal immigration can continue at 700,000 to 900,000 illegal annually.

8. This bill ignores the massive fraud in the "guest worker" program where as many as 80% of the agricultural workers quickly abandon the fields to find better paying jobs in construction - defeating the whole purpoes of the program.
